Hello, friend. How are you? I hope you are well and safe and healthy and strong.
Contrary to what I believed during the beginning of quarantine that I would have more time at my disposal since I would no longer be commuting to and from work nor taking coffee or fast food runs, I actually have less time for myself these days. I attend at least three meetings per day, and work sometimes extends way past 6 PM. I also work on weekends. I am exhausted, but Christmas break looms in the horizon.
Yes, hours have blended into days into weeks into months, and now it's December. Can you believe??
On my last post, I told you about PMDD and how I think I may have it. Well I had some tests done, and yes, I do have it. I also have myomas again, which is shocking to me considering I've already had 11 myomas taken out back in 2018. It appears these nasty, needless, useless nuisances are really intent on bugging me, and now I really do not know how else to deal with them. I am scared of taking pills again because of their effect on my emotions, skin, and weight, so right now I am just ignoring them as long as I can. It's not that difficult to do seeing as how work keeps me so busy.
So, yes, back to the original point of this post. It has been my longstanding tradition in this blog to post my Christmas wish list every first day of December complete with fancy collages. I thought of not doing it this year, but I do not actually want to throw this tradition away and at the same time I figured it could be a good time to revisit this blog and show signs of life.
However, I am not really in the mood to be jolly and festive right now. Sure I still want a typewriter (this has been in my annual Wish Lists since I started this blog) and sure I still want a Silhouette Cameo but I actually do not have the space for them at the moment. (I can't wait to move out again.) It would be great to wish for the vaccine to be readily available soon and for this pandemic to end but I am not eight years old. My Wish Lists are all tangible things, bonus points if they are nicely wrapped under the Christmas tree.
I want a Wish List but I do not know what to put on it (and believe me I have been racking my brain for about two weeks now. So I have decided to go ahead with My Christmas 2020 Wish List that is Not a Wish List.
Instead of a wish list, I am writing down Things I Wanted and Got and Now You Should Consider Them as Gifts to Your Family and Friends. A gift guide of sorts, if you will.

Things I Wanted and Got and Now You Should Consider Them as Gifts to Your Family and Friends
- My Starbucks mug for honey citron tea. It is such a happy color and I love the tiny spoon. Thanks to Ashley for enabling me!
- My Kindle Paperwhite is one of my favorite gifts given to me by J. I had a "where have you been all my life?" moment with my first Kindle, and this Paperwhite was such an upgrade! There are a lot of cute cases available now in Shopee.
- Silk Slumber set from Posh Flip. I have been wanting to switch to using silk pillow cases because they're more gentle for the hair and skin, and this set comes with a pillow case, a scrunchie, a hair tie, and an elastic hairband. They're all handmade by the shop owner, and they smelled so luxurious when they arrived to me.
- This Blythe factory doll is my newest doll, and she is also J's gift to me. Depending on your interests and preferences, there are a lot of doll options available online together with clothes and accessories. You will definitely be spoilt for choice!
- Outlook Calendar is easy and convenient especially when you are jumping from one Teams meeting to another, but there's really something inherently satisfying with listing down your to-dos for the day and ticking them off throughout the day. They should bottle this feeling, I will definitely buy. Anyway, this aquamarine Quest Journal will fulfill this purpose for me next year.
- These coasters are resin works of art handmade by my twinnie Kristel. Check out her shop Handcrafted By Tellie and prepare your wallets.
- I really do not know why, but this pair of Sabbat VOOPLAY True Wireless Earphones in Cereal makes me so happy every time I look at it. Maybe it's because they look like Biogesics LMAO.
- If the Kindle Paperwhite is one of my favorites among J's gifts to me, then my yellow Nintendo Switch Lite and Animal Crossing New Horizons game are probably my ULTIMATE favorites! This game brings me unbridled joy every time I play it, and with all the updates coming I do not think this will change anytime soon!
- Meet and greet with Nate Ruess. Whoever can give me the chance to meet Nate Ruess in person before or after his Manila show on January, ohmygollygoodness I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER.
- Typewriter. This has been a constant staple in my wish lists ever since I lost mine to a fire in our neighborhood back in 2011. I don't even know if they still manufacture the ribbons for typewriters, or maybe I can buy them in bulk somewhere? A typewriter under my tree will really make me happy.
- Moleskine Watercolor Journal. This is for when I go out of town. There have been instances when I wanted to bring my travel watercolor kit with me but I always end up not being able to do so because I find bringing loose leaves of 4"x6" and 6"x8" watercolor paper that I pre-cut too much of a hassle.
- Humans of New York. The entries of HONY on Facebook always makes me tear up, and I would love to have the book.
- NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna and Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color in Crushed Plum. Because a Krissyfied Wish List ain't complete without a lipstick in it.
- Astronomy-themed anything. A date in the Planetarium, a night of star-watching --- basically anything with stars.
- Hipster Jasmine Funko Pop! It's not in the photo because it's not available in the photo-editing website I am using so just kindly click the link to see how she looks like. If you don't want to, well, okay, hee. I want this because it's my favorite Disney princess AND she's wearing glasses.
That's it. That's everything.
But, you know, I've been extra good this year so if Santa's feeling extra generous then I wouldn't complain with getting a new camera or a new apartment near the office either. Heh.
What are the items in your Christmas wish list? I would love to know!
- Camera. I'm happy with the quality of my phones (I use an iPhone 6S and a Huawei P9) but a camera will be so much better.
- Dollhouse and miniatures. I've always been fascinated with dollhouses and I'd like to take a stab at making my own miniatures. Instagram is a treasure trove of inspiration! Check out Lavender Belle and be amazed. The only challenge here is the space to display it in.
- BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette. I've wanted this palette ever since I saw it and the glowing (glowing, get it? heh) reviews further cemented my need to have it. However I made it a point to reduce my makeup purchase this year (I am currently succeeding because I haven't bought any lipsticks yet since this year started!) so I am putting this on my wish list. But who knows, I might just go ahead and allow myself this little indulgence.
- Teenage Fashion Model Barbie. The Teenage Fashion Model Barbie is an iconic Barbie doll in the sense that it is the very first Barbie doll ever produced and sold, and any doll collector should have one.
#TheBarbieLook™ Barbie® Doll – City Chic Style.I have no other justifications on why I want this doll except that I really, really, really like her face and hair and the way she has a journal and a pencil (that fit in her bag!) as accessories. Ugh. (Wish granted December 3, 2017!)
Sewing machine.Since I'm collecting dolls, I would also like to try making clothes for them. I [virtually] met a lot of very talented people on the Facebook groups I belong to like Wawie who makes her own Barbie clothes and dioramas. I also bought clothes from her and the quality is very nice! It would be really cool if I can also learn how to make my own. (Wish granted December 13, 2017!)
I used to make very elaborate wish lists complete with a collage but ever since Polyvore folded I haven't been made aware of any good websites to make them with, so here's a simple accompanying photo.
- Pat McGrath Lipsticks
- Typewriter
- Oven
- Silhouette Cameo
There's an awful lot of people who can't believe it's December.
— VeryBritishProblems (@SoVeryBritish) December 1, 2014
Continuing my tradition of posting my wish list just in case Santa's feeling generous. (^_−)☆
- Watercolor. Watercolor in tubes or palettes, watercolor brushes, watercolor brush pens, watercolor pads — I WANT THEM ALL. (Specifically requesting for brushes 0, 00, and 000, and at least 200 gsm for watercolor pads, please.) I am so glad I went to Liz's watercolor workshop and unlocked my potential. If I could learn how to draw (even just a little) and paint, then I can do anything.
- Washi tape. I mentioned my slight obsession with washi tape on my previous post. They can get really expensive especially when you buy a lot at the same time, but I just can't resist. Purpz left a comment that washi tapes can be bought for as low as P3.00 each from CD-R King! Insane! I hope I can drop by soon.
- Magnetic Poetry Kits. They're fun to use and excellent for practicing playing with words with. I would like to have the Original Kit, the Poet Edition, the Happiness themed kit, and the Haiku kit. I made this (and a lot of others I haven't posted yet) with my Book Lover Kit.
- Journals and pens. Because I am a woman who gets overwhelmed with joy at the sight of pretty journals, pens, and other stationery, and because one can never have enough notebooks and pens.
- Yellow umbrella. My favorite TV show in all the world ended this year and because I love collecting stuff tied to pop culture, I would very much want to own a yellow umbrella. The yellow umbrella may or may not also be a symbolism for a different wish. ^_^"
- Amazon gift cards. Because Kindle ebooks.
As per my tradition also, let me re-share this Christmas playlist I made a couple of years ago for the benefit of my blog's new readers. Hope you like it!
Whew! December. How did we get here in the first place? Anyway, I hope you enjoy the last month of 2014! Make it count. ☆
Since 2011, it has been a tradition for me to post my Christmas wish list on the first day of December in case Santa's feeling generous, but today I didn't even realize it was time to make this year's list if not for Timehop reminding me so. And so I spent the idle hours of this day thinking to myself what I want to receive this Christmas so I can start doing one of my snazzy collages again...
... and I came up with nothing.
I mean, sure, I've wanted a typewriter for so long and a white Kindle Paperwhite would be very, very, very nice to have, but, I don't know, in the grand scheme of things, with the amount of distress and political upheavals we've been having lately, I just feel like no one really cares if I get a paperweight or a new ebook reader or the Hamiltome for Christmas.
A visual representation of my brain cells having a bear-y important meeting
Am I too old for Santa's list?
Maybe. But still, that doesn't stop me from feeling festive and excited for this season. I just finished ordering presents for my aunts, uncles, and most of my friends, and I'm looking forward to distributing my gifts to them.
Last Tuesday we also had our office Christmas party, and it was a lot of fun. I think this was my favorite party yet because we were asked to invite our loved ones with us, and naturally I brought my love Miah.
Unlikely pairing: Super Mario and Vegeta, heh ♥ I won Best in Costume that night, by the way!
Speaking of birthdays and celebrations, you should definitely go to Freezer Burn in Bonifacio High Street as soon as possible and get Simbang Gabi, a special Christmas flavor that boasts of salted egg ice cream and freshly baked bibingka.
Who would have thought that one of our favorite Pinoy Christmas delicacies can have a twist as special as this? I wish I can get my old metabolism back and eat everything I want without worrying about the extra pounds. OH! Can that be my Christmas wish?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
How about you, what are the items in your Christmas wish list? I hope you get your hearts' desires, as well as the wisdom to deal with them when you do finally get them.
- Typewriter - I used to have a typewriter with cursive letters, but sadly I lost it together with all our belongings in a big fire back in 2001. I know it's heavy and could be impractical, but I still want to have one again.
- Leather-bound journal and pens - Nothing beats putting pen to paper. Alunsina makes really nice ones.
2014 planner - I still rely on paper planners even with smartphones and Google Calendar. Old school, I know, but it works for me.Crossing this out as the Belle de Jour team is sending me my own BDJ Power Planner as appreciation for my patronage from way back. Thanks, BDJ team!- Yoga mat - I started practicing yoga during the last quarter of this year. Having my own mat will let me practice properly even at home.
Leather bucket bag - I've been getting a lot of use out of my yellow bucket bag lately and I just think it would be nice to have one made of leather, preferably in brown or tan.Crossing this out as I found one from Ghoent Junior that would be perfect for me! It can even be transformed into a backpack. It's leatherette, but it will do. The best thing about it is that 100% of the sales goes to help one of Ghoent's officemates who is seriously ill. People have such kind hearts.- How I Met Your Mother DVDs - My favorite TV show is ending next year and I just think it would be nice to have something to hold on to. Preferably with deleted scenes and other bonus featurettes. ;)
- DIY classes - I am a big nerd and I love learning about different kinds of things. I really enjoyed the stamp-making and dyeing workshop by Craft MNL that I attended back in March and I would love to go to more, especially their amigurumi and/ or doll-making workshops.
- X-Acto knife - How weird to include knives in a Christmas wish list LOL, but I'd like an X-Acto knife to help me carve stamps more precisely.
- Makeup - Receiving makeup is always nice. I would love eyeliners and eyebrow products. Or lipsticks. You can never go wrong with lipsticks.
By the way, here's a Christmas playlist I made last year. Sharing it here again just because Christmas always makes me feel happy and fuzzy and warm inside. Enjoy!

- Kindle Touch. I used to want a Kindle Fire, but after weighing the pros and cons, I think a Kindle Touch and its e-ink technology would suit me better, since all I wanted in the first place was to have a nifty gadget that would make reading much easier for me. I was supposed to buy one a couple of weeks ago but decided to just have my netbook fixed. I now wish I didn't.
- A new camera. I have had my camera for less than six months but it is already showing major signs of tear and wear. The lens has gone wonky and pictures are not as clear and crisp as I would want them to be. I don't want a dSLR as it's too bulky for me and my lifestyle so a great-quality point-and-shoot will do, like the Canon S95.
Planner.I am eyeing the Paulo Coelho Moments 2012 Day Planner that contains really pretty artworks and select quotes from books written by Coelho :) - Thank you Michelle for getting me a Moonleaf Tea Shop planner! :)New glasses.I wish this is not here, but this is more of a necessity for me. Blame my genes. It's time to get new glasses for poor eyesighted me. I'm leaning towards getting a sexy tortoise-shell pair. - I got the Ray-Ban tortoise-shell pair I wanted from the PRIVADO sale!Contact lens.I think it's really time for me to get one as I've been attending quite a lot of events recently and eyeglasses and a pretty cocktail dress don't really match. I just have to get over my fear of putting foreign objects in my eyes, plus the not-to-easy-to-swallow price. I have high astigmatism so they'd have to be especially made. And once I get them, I know I have to be extra careful - God forbid I lose contact lens worth P4,000. Ulp. - DONE! I finally took a leap of faith and got contact lens last December 16 ;DConcert tickets!I've been to lots of great concerts this year, and really, the feeling of seeing and hearing insanely-talented artists perform in the flesh - priceless! One concert I'm really looking forward to for next year is Hanson! - Tickets for the January 2, 2012 2PM show of Disney on Ice for me, my sister and my cousin! Yayyy! :DMAC Girl About Town. One swipe of this ultra-pretty pink lipstick and I instantly feel fabulous! I suffered great trauma when I was mugged last May, and you can just imagine how devastating it was to have lost my possessions - even more so when it's hard to get a replacement. My heart was broken when my favorite lipstick was taken as it's not available here in Manila. I wish my Tita Jean can read this now ;) - My Tita Jean read this list and promised to buy me a tube, yay!- Awesome and legendary friends. I put a photo of the How I Met Your Mother gang up there because I just love their group's dynamics. I just wish the friendships I have now can be as strong as what they have ♥
What are the items in your wish list?
If I would be asked for my heart's one true desire, I would say contentment with what I have. But since I am not there yet, I say GIVE ME ALL THE THINGS!
Just kidding. I don't really want ALL THE THINGS. I just want clear, glowing, younger-looking skin, and a few key pieces that would add a little bit more sparkle this season.
This is where Althea Korea comes in.
They have all the things to make this happen, and just look at that holiday-themed box I can reuse. ♡ Here is my Althea Korea wish list.
As I said in my review, this is now my favorite sunscreen so I need more: one for my parents' house, one in the condo, and one in my boyfriend's parents' house. Therefore, wish list!
I loved the MIssha Perfect Cover BB Cream and I am guessing I would love this one as well, only its in a cushion form. The combination of 5 Hyaluronic Acid, Adenosine, and Collagen is said to provide a moisturizing base and help create moist and elastic skin with the brand's special moisture glow.
I just love the colors here! I have a lot of eye shadow palettes I play with regularly but I don't have a coffee-themed palette yet, so this is perfect!
Velvety texture! Bright glitters! And the fact that this is in a giftable box makes my heart flutter with delight!
How about you, what are your Christmas wishes? I do hope you get every thing on your list. ♡
A wink and a sigh, and it's December.
Posting my simple Christmas wish list here just in case Santa's feeling generous ;)
- Kindle - I've wanted one for ages! This e-reader is in my wish list year after year (see 2011's), but until now I still haven't brought myself to get one. I don't even know how many generations Amazon has released, all I know is that I want even a basic model so I can lug my digital books everywhere! I have an Android app in my phone that currently holds more than 200 books and I've read more than 30 of them already, but the Kindle's electronic ink screen is more eye-friendly than my smartphone's backlight.
- Typewriter - I used to have a typewriter with cursive letters, and the school projects and write-ups I produced using it were my favorites. Sadly I lost it together with all of our belongings and our house in a big fire. Now I want one again, maybe to complete my 'starving writer' image? I don't know. Nothing beats paper and ink, at least for me.
- Digital camera - my camera has failed me yet again, and that is the reason why I've been having problems with photos for my blog lately. I need a decent point-and-shoot for events and just about any mundane thing I can post in the Internet that I alone find interesting.
Le Petit Prince Moleskine Planner - I was thisclose to getting one for myself the other day, but I wanted to hold out to see what Moonleaf Tea Shop will come up with for 2013, as I really made great use of my 2012 planner. But if someone will be willing to give me this, I would gladly and wholeheartedly accept.Crossed off on 5 December 2012!- The Dark Knight Rises Trilogy DVD collection - I admit, my heart sank a bit when I found out this P1,550 collection includes a copy of The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy, seeing as I bought myself that quite expensive book just last month. Thankfully it's only a 64-page excerpt. Whew. Now I know some people might wonder why I want this when I've already seen (and memorized some parts of) all three movies. BUT IT'S BATMAN, YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.
- Sandman collection by Neil Gaiman - I love Neil Gaiman's works and it's a bit embarrassing that I haven't read any of this collection until last month. I got my first taste of the Sandman (umm, that sounded wrong) when I slept over at my officemate Anne's house. She and her boyfriend have the best. bookshelf. ever!!! I stayed up until past two in the morning finishing two books and only stopped when my imagination was already conjuring too many scary scenarios. I spent the rest of the next day nursing a terrible headache but it was worth it. Anne doesn't like lending out her books and I want my own copies, so, anyone? Haha.
- Orly Star Spangled - In case you haven't noticed, I love movies and books and fictional worlds. This particular shade reminds me of Dorothy's iconic red slippers. It would be so cool to color my nails this red for Christmas, Valentine's Day, my birthday, and just about any occasion that needs red! And glitters!
- The sweater with the red heart print may or may not symbolize my request to Santa for someone to hug this coming year. ;)
Because I am nosy, I want to know what your Christmas wish lists include! Who knows, if we wish hard enough, it might come true ♥ Happy December 1st, everyone! Let's all make the last month of 2012 count!
