Almost October

25 September 2017

Hello, friend. I am alive and well, but I have been either too busy or too lazy. There are so many posts I wanted to write before September crept in, but before I knew it the month is almost over.

I know no one's looking for an explanation, and I might disappear for days/ weeks again anyway, but here it is just the same: I'd really like to produce more fresh content for my blog but lack of time and motivation derails me. My original goal for putting up this blog is to share stories and document my days but somehow I feel it has been lost in a flurry of marketing initiatives and sponsored posts. Still, I intend to be authentic and be my true self in that I only write about things I genuinely care about and believe in.

And I believe in love

and being your own hero

{A little context for those who have no prior knowledge of Ever After High: Darling Charming is the daughter of King Charming and she is destined to be a damsel-in-distress, but instead she becomes a hero and ends up rescuing the other fairy tales}
and the confidence boost the perfect lipstick can bring

and finding beauty in the simplest of things.

I believe we're all mad here

but it doesn't matter anyway

When I can be mad with this guy. ♥

J brought me to a special date in Alice Tea Salon, a dessert-and-tea place in Pasig, and we even brought my doll Madeline Hatter and her pet dormouse Earl Grey with us. What a guy, this guy.

In other news, I'm now taking a different medication for my myoma and I am happy to report that I don't feel the same heavy feelings as I did with my previous meds. I believe in the strength of prayer and the power of healing, and I'm positive things will work out well.

Thank you for reading. My heart is full.

Lipstick-less days

30 August 2017

I am perky and enthusiastic, sometimes overly so. I am also very, very excitable. A lot of things excite me, but of all the things I get excited about, one of my favorites are lipsticks. I have strong opinions on colors, shade names, formulation, packaging, and finish, and I never go out without a swipe of it. I can't even leave the office during breaks without putting on lipstick first.

Lately though, I've been feeling too much in the dumps that I couldn't even muster enough energy to apply lipstick. When I let even *one* day go by without applying lipstick, you know there's something wrong. It's been days, friend.

It's weird because my relationship's going great, work's OK, all that jazz. I *should* be okay.

But I'm not.

I have terrible mood swings, and sometimes I burst into tears for no apparent reason, or when my mind suddenly conjures horrible thoughts.

It's difficult when I can't even pinpoint what's wrong because then I can't address it.

My guess is that it's an effect of the pills I'm taking for my myoma, but what can I do when my medicine that aims to heal me also affects me this way? Good thing I'm seeing my doctor on Saturday so I can bring this up.

Yesterday I decided I'll just ride it out until it passes. Or until a new lipstick shade sweeps me off my feet.

Helpful friends piped in and sent good wishes, which are deeply appreciated. I do hope it's just the weather and not an ominous sign of worse things to come.

My friend Nashe suggested I "put on a lippie I never considered, or haven't used in a while, and see if it helps get things moving". I tried that today with my Maybelline Powder Matte Lipstick in Make Me Blush, and it was nice. I even did my brows and went the extra mile and put on shjimmery peach eye shadow on my lids.

I also used my lunch break to get a haircut.

I liked it. I didn't realize my head could feel this light again. I just need to get a blow-dryer to maintain its bounce and volume, but first I need to find the energy to shop for one and wake up 30 minutes earlier than usual to be able to squeeze it in my morning routine.

I miss being perky and enthusiastic.

Ballet Manila presents: Ibong Adarna

25 August 2017

When I was still studying, I had this habit of reading my school books immediately after my Mom buys them for me at enrollment. Even before the official school year rolls around, I have already finished reading all the stories in my Filipino, English, and Christian Living books.

One of the books I devoured was Ibong Adarna, which was required reading in our Filipino subject when I was in first year high school. This folk tale follows the journey of three mighty brothers—Pedro, Diego, and Juan, as they search for the magical bird whose voice possesses healing powers. There's drama, comedy, adventure, and of course, romance.

Imagine my delight when I found out that Ballet Manila is doing their own interpretation of Ibong Adarna!

For the past couple of decades, Ballet Manila has constantly made great leaps in classical dance. Now on its 22nd performance season, the company is again raising the bar as it prepares to just take off and soar.

With the title Flights of Fantasy, the upcoming season is opening with the world premiere of Ibong Adarna featuring the choreography of principal dancer Gerardo Francisco. The multi-awarded choreographer and gifted danseur is set to bring to life the magical kingdom of Berbanya at the Aliw Theater stage.

Meet Madeline Hatter

22 August 2017

It all started two Sundays ago. My boyfriend and I chanced upon Re-Ment miniature toys when we went to his toy haunts in Greenhills, and I waxed on and on about my toys when I was young — my play kitchen sets, my Barbie dolls, my miniature doll houses — every thing I lost when we lost our house to a big fire back in 2001. Jeremiah suggested we build my collection again, and to start with a Barbie doll.

We stayed far too long at the Barbie section at Toy Kingdom with me ooh-ing and aah-ing at everything I saw and him documenting my reactions, but I couldn't decide what to get. He suggested I get a Made to Move Barbie because it's fully articulated and I could play with different poses, but I was hesitant because I thought its clothes were too "simple". I finally yielded, but asked to take a look at the Disney Princess dolls first to look at Jasmine.

That's when I saw them.

In one seemingly forgotten corner of the store, the Ever After High dolls were just there, and it was like they were waiting just for me. I shrieked because, hello, how could I not? They were sons and daughters of fairy tale characters with beautiful hair and fabulous accessories?? They're perfect!

Apparently it's a show on Netflix that I added on my list a while ago but forgot about. We spent a longer time there because I just couldn't choose, until I finally decided on Kitty Cheshire (daughter of the Cheshire Cat) and Featherly (a Forest Pixie)!

Less than two weeks later, and here we are. I've already devoted a huge chunk of time watching the show, reading about these characters, visiting toy stores, and talking my boyfriend's ears off about them. If you haven't yet, I suggest that you watch the show because it's HEXCELLENT and SPELLTACULAR! It's funny without being corny/ cheesy and the characterization and dialogues are fantastical and wonderful!

I'm sad that I'm already at the last chapter of the series, and I'm crossing my fingers that Mattel produces more episodes. Until then, I've set my heart to collecting Madeline Hatter (middle name: Xylophone) dolls because she's my favorite forever after!

Notice my puffy eyes? I burst into tears after seeing all these beautiful Madeline Hatter dolls!
I love Maddie because she's kooky with a good heart. She and her lines are just so amusing that I found myself drawn to her character from the start! After weighing all my options and considering my budget, I ended up with this:

EXTRA TALL MADELINE HATTER!
I was so confused as to why she is the only one with an extra tall version, and I learned why in the Way Too Wonderland chapter.

Cheers to five years!

14 August 2017

Hello, friend. I hope you are well. ♥

Time flies. I celebrated my fifth anniversary with ARC Public Relations yesterday. For an industry that can be fickle, five years is a long time and is already a milestone. To commemmorate this occasion, I got a Pandora Globe Charm to symbolize how big my world has grown since I stepped out if my comfort zone and started anew.

Five years is a speck, really, in the grand scheme of things, but when I think of everything that has happened in this span of time I still get amazed. Five years in this company and I still learn something new every day. Of all the risks I took, this is by far the best.

In other news, we moved to a new office! I miss the open spaces, SM Aura, and cute doggos being walked by their humans in BGC but commuting to and from home is much easier and cheaper now.

The new office is more cramped than the previous one we had but I'm so thankful to be given my own work-space.

I AM VERY BUSY: My ban.do Agenda

31 July 2017

How? How could it be August tomorrow already? Before long Christmas songs will be blasting all over the city again, so we have to make sure we're taking the time to pause every once in a while.

Work is more forgiving now that there are more of us in the team. It's still a stressful industry, but I breathe more easily these days. Hah. My free times are dedicated to spending quality time with family, friends, my boyfriend and his family, and my hobbies: reading, watching movies, writing, and journalling.

My Le Petit Prince Weekly Diary/ Planner Moleskine has served me well but when I saw this particular ban.do Agenda, I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE IT. Yes, the intensity was real.

It has a matte laminated hard cover in PINK with holographic letters. How can I say no to that?? I couldn't, and I didn't, and now I have it. It's perfect. ♥
we’re gonna let you in on a little secret: the 2017–2018 ban.do agenda is not just your average planner. oh no! it’s also an art gallery, a cheerleader, a top secret document, a personal assistant, and a best friend. this one’s our classic agenda in i am very busy. it’s got handy year, month, and week views, tons of notes pages, color-coded tabs, stickers (a lot), cool art from our cool friends, weekend to-dos, compliments, a neat poster, and just so much more. it’s pretty much the agenda of your dreams. From ban.do's website
It's so pretty I'm heart eyes emoji! If this Agenda's any indication, the rest of 2017 and all of 2018 will be bright and bold and colorful for sure.

And look! Stickers! Two sheets of stickers are included, but because I'm me and I'm sticker-happy, I printed a bunch of planner printables and stickers using my Canon PIXMA E470!

Review: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

30 July 2017

It's National Lipstick Day on my side of the globe but here I am reviewing mascara. LOL.

Ain't nobody got time for mascara if you're like me who wears glasses all the time but I apply it occasionally - when there's a special event or when I'm in the mood just because. The tube I reach out to the most is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I've liked it since the first time I got it last year, and I appreciate that Maybelline sent me a new tube to replenish my stash!

The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara promises buildable volume and length with each stroke, and I can attest that it makes good on that promise.

They say that aside from the formula of the mascara itself, its effectivity also depends on the brush. I'm not well-versed on the intricacies of mascara brushes, but Lash Sensational's is built with a unique and separating brush that opens up your lashes to reveal layers upon layers.

What I like about the Lash Sensational is that you can layer it on to build as much length and volume as you want to create a lash look fit for any occasion. No need for multiple mascaras that can only deliver either length or volume! Lash Sensational has it all! And the best part? You can say goodbye to clumpy lashes- zero mess, zero clumps guaranteed!

My Avon Panty Store Picks

25 July 2017

I love shopping for new underwear. At the risk of being TMI, I prefer matching my undies. There are several other factors to consider, like the material of my outerwear (gotta make sure there are no visible panty lines), occasion (cotton undies for casual days and long haul travels, dainty lace or microfiber for special events), and fit (because who likes wearing ill-fitted underwear, right?)

Underwear shopping can be a very daunting task for some, especially for girls who juggle multiple activities on a day-to-day basis. Going from one shop to another in a frenzy in search of panties for that body fitting dress I'm wearing to a special event happening in less than a week can get crazy, and spending hours looking for panties that I can wear all day long during the summer months or during workout sessions (not that they happen frequently, heh) can get daunting. So I'm thrilled to receive this gift from the Avon Panty Store!

As the no. 1 Intimate Apparel brand, Avon Fashions offers the widest variety of panty collections through the Avon Panty Store. From classic silhouettes made of 100% cotton to nude semi-seamless pieces and fun printed panties, Avon Fashions is making it easier for Filipinas to find all the intimate pieces they need in one place.

Looove these yummy prints and colors! ♥

The Penshoppe DNMLab DIY Bar is back!

24 July 2017

One of my favorite events last year was the Penshoppe Denimlab DIY Bar where we had the chance to customize our Penshoppe Denims with paints and patches. From today until Wednesday, July 26, you can go to Glorietta Activity Center Palm Drive and purchase the freshest Penshoppe Denim drops and have them customized however which way you want!

Althea Korea turns 2!

09 July 2017

Guess who's turning two.

There are a lot of online shops distributing Korean beauty and skincare products locally but I find myself browsing Althea Korea more often because it's more updated and the expansive range and variety plus huge discounts can't be beat! Since they ship from Korea straight to your delivery address, it's like bringing home a piece of Korea each time, heh. These, as well as the cool deals they regularly offer, are why I've remained a loyal and happy customer since I first ordered two years ago.

Now to celebrate their birthday this month, they're shipping awesome limited edition birthday boxes with every order, until supplies last!

Here's a closer look at how I decorated my Althea Korea cake box with the birthday DIY kit!

How do you like it? I am positively giddy because teal-pink is my favorite color combination! ♥

Now let's take a peek at what's inside!

My Canon PIXMA E470

03 July 2017

Electricity courses through my fingers as I type this because I'm so excited about my new art companion: the Canon PIXMA E470! I had some free time last week that afforded me to check out the Canon PIXMA event and I'm so glad I did because I took a new printer home. ♥

Ladies and gents, I'd like you to meet my new art companion:

Canon recently announced the PIXMA Ink Efficient E410 and E470 as the newest additions to their line of Ink Efficient All-In-One printers. These are the latest printers equipped with low-cost, high yield ink cartridges to ensure affordable cost of operation. It has a scanner and copier too so you don't have to purchase those separately!

Here are some out-of-the-box photos as well as samples of my first print jobs.

What a beaut.
I was very intimidated at first because I didn't have the slightest idea on how to set up a printer (or any hardware, for that matter). It made me miss my Kuya even more because he used to do it for me. I was ready to just give up and wait for my boyfriend to help me, but I rolled up my sleeves and turned to the manual.

Halfway through 2017

30 June 2017

Huh. I feel like we just welcomed the new year and now we're already halfway through.

Inconceivable.

What a packed month, this month, and I missed writing so I thought I'd do a month in review, especially since aside from celebrating our second anniversaryone of my biggest childhood dreams came true this June.

We started the month with a BANG through Oxygen X Bieber.

Oxygen continues to creatively evolve with the latest trends, especially given the worldwide resurgence of street style fashion, and I am SO PROUD to work with them. This time, the homegrown brand has done it by rolling out exclusive licensed merchandise featuring the international music icon that has taken both the music and fashion world by storm—Justin Bieber.

Models, celebrities, and Beliebers flocked to the launch of the coveted Oxygen X Bieber collection, which was unveiled in an exclusive shopping party at the SM Mega Fashion Hall. I witnessed a LOT of fans clamoring for the merchandise on the weeks leading up to the event, and it was amazing/ heartwarming to see them lining up outside hours before the mall opened even though the collection wouldn't have been available for them until 1 PM!

Released in partnership with Bravado and MCA Universal, the collection features street wear staples including pullovers, bomber jackets, coach jackets, caps, bags, and shirts that all draw inspiration from Bieber’s hit album, Purpose. I wore my Maybelline Loaded Bold Matte Lipstick in Pitch Black during the shopping party and it was a hit!

The first few days of June were also a hit for my artistic sensibilities. Featured above are mementos from a packed #BU13 and #BatCon and a Monday spent with talented artists Julienne, Mika, and Rian.

And HERE! The day I've been waiting for since I was 12 happened this month!

Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they sing and dance on stage and inspire you that if they can get through 2008 and look fabulous doing it, then you can get through anything. Britney Spears has been my personal hero since I was 12 years old and seeing her perform live last June 15 is definitely one of my life's highlights. The concert exceeded all my expectations and then some. I was SO HAPPY I cried on my way to work the next morning, you guys. I waited for this for so long, I'm still emotional even now.

24 months at the 12th day of the 6th month of the year

13 June 2017

Hello, world wide web! Jumping off from my last post, I would like to say I am alive and well. I started taking medication yesterday and I'm positive the steps I have been taking to make sure the myomas will shrink will work.

Thank you very much for your support and prayers.

Another big event happened, and I got a PANDORA charm to commemorate the occasion. It's doubly special, because it was a gift. Jeremiah and I celebrated our second anniversary yesterday, and he gifted me with a Vintage K Charm.

It's beautiful. ♥

More than the gift, I am so happy we got to spend the day doing things we love.

We had lunch at Café Lidia with his parents and his sister Chelsea, and then went to different places after. Our first stop was the Book Museum cum Ethnology Center.

Hello, I have myoma.

21 May 2017

What a roller-coaster ride this week has been.

It all started when my Mama said I should probably see an OB-Gyne for my tummy. She had myoma before and had her uterus removed along with it. I've actually noticed my stomach getting bigger but I was in denial, blaming my love for sugary treats and rice and telling myself I will just exercise more. Having my mom call me out on it was a wake-up call that I could not ignore it any longer, so I took half the day off work last Tuesday to go to my first OB-Gyne appointment since I turned 30.

Hello, St. Luke's Medical Center. We meet again.

Side note: since I was there already, I figured I should also have my moles checked by a dermatologist. Because when a stranger at the mall tells you to have your moles checked if you don't want to suffer the same fate as his wife did, you go and have your moles checked. Good news: my mole at my right shoulder is completely harmless while my mole on my right leg turns out to be not a mole but a skin nodule that can be removed topically.

Back to my OB-Gyne story. The doctor performed a Pap smear on me and also ordered me to have a trans-vaginal ultrasound. Yes, both procedures were as painful as they sounded. I was comforted by the fact that I didn't have to shell out more than P10,000 for the two lab tests and the doctor's consultation fee because they were covered by our company health card. Thank you, ARC PR.

One of my character flaws is that I think too much. As expected, I spent the next couple of days agonizing over the results and dreading the worst.

When Friday finally rolled around, I used my lunch-break to go back to St. Luke's for the results.

Good news, I don't have cancer. Bad news, I have myoma.

I have four of them.

Four nasty, needless, useless nuisances.

Two of them are quite large while the other two are smaller, but all of them are located inside the muscles of my uterus.

The doctor's recommendation is for me to have a Laparoscopic myomectomy, a minimally invasive procedure where the surgeon accesses and removes fibroids through several small abdominal incisions. But that would cost me upwards of P300,000(!!!) so it's not an option I can just choose anytime soon, aside from the fact I wouldn't really want any apparatus messing with my reproductive system before I'm ready to get pregnant and give birth.

Her other solution is to have a Caesarean section but personally that would be even worse because aside from injecting anesthesia on my spinal cord and cutting my abdomen open to get to my uterus (I get weak in the knees just typing that down), it would take me about two months to recover from the operation. It would also take longer before my body can recover enough to be able to get pregnant and give birth.

I cried in front of the doctor, cried in my Uber on the way back to the office, cried to my officemates, cried on the way home, cried to my Mom, and cried while messaging my boyfriend and close friends.

I was so scared that I won't be able to have a baby.

I mean, I'm not ready to have a baby now but, you know, it's nice to know that I can when my partner and I decide we're ready.

I was so scared and worried and my tears wouldn't stop coming.

It was exhausting.

My boyfriend maintained a clear and rational head through all this and proposed that we see his aunt who's also an OB-Gyne for a second opinion.

Our Saturday, usually spent on a movie- or shopping-date, was spent falling in line at the hospital, waiting for our turn so her aunt doctor can see me.

After checking my lab results and asking me the necessary questions for her diagnosis, she asked that my boyfriend go in before she discuss my condition and her recommendations since she said he will just bug her about it. It was sweet. :)

Dr. Mangubat was able to clearly explain everything to us and patiently answered all our questions about my condition. She explained that a woman may develop myoma not necessarily because of her diet nor her lifestyle; it's just something that decides to pop up without any known specific causes. The good thing is I was able to have it detected early. The best part? She assured me I can still have a baby.

She enumerated all options available for me given my current state. It was a complete relief to hear her say I didn't need to have any apparatus anywhere near my uterus as she doesn't see the need to operate on me, seeing as how I don't suffer the other symptoms that require immediate surgery. What a complete joy to breathe a sigh of relief after holding my breath the rest of the week.

I'll start medication when my next cycle starts, and I'm crossing my fingers and praying to God that all goes well.

I need to stop eating a lot of my favorite foods (like ube, dried fruits, and soya, among others) but that's a minor inconvenience I'm willing to go through if it means it can help shrink these four nuisances.

My enemy now is the TRO against birth control in the Philippines, but I guess we'll cross the bridge when we get there.

Through all these, I am thankful for my family and friends and my boyfriend and his family. What are the odds that I would have this condition and then have a boyfriend whose aunt can help? We are connected by an invisible thread, and I am so thankful this intangible string of fate led us to where we were supposed to be.

I can enumerate the many instances that prove we were destined to meet, but that's another story for another day. In the meantime, I hope you can pray with me for my quick recovery. I also hope you can sign this petition to lift the TRO. I am looking forward to getting better and healthier and, God willing, being a great Mom to my future kid/s. Thank you for reading. ♥

Review: Panasonic Facial Ionic Steamer

29 April 2017

Whatever list you look at, Public Relations remains a constant placer in the Most Stressful Jobs in the World category. I stay because I thrive on stress - when my fingertips tingle and my heart beats loudly during stressful instances, that's when I feel most alive.

However, I still need to de-stress to keep myself sane and to not suffer untimely death due to stress-induced heart attack. Heh. I read, I go to the movies, I watch light TV shoes, I journal, I ask my mom or my boyfriend (whoever's available) for back rubs, and on extreme cases I go to a spa and get a massage.

Panasonic recently gifted me with a Facial Ionic Steamer, and it's been a great addition to my home spa so far. ♥

The Panasonic Facial Ionic Steamer promises to not only cleanse your pores for dirt, it also leaves your skin feeling hydrated thanks to the nanoe™ particles it releases, penetrating the skin to make it feel refreshed and renewed.

Shopping for Real Techniques brushes from Sephora

28 April 2017

The first time I was able to use Real Techniques brushes was when my blogger friend Kim gifted with a Travel Essentials set that contained a foundation brush, a multitask brush, and a domed shadow brush. I fell in love with the brushes instantly and bring the set with me instead of lugging my entire brush set whenever I travel.

One of the most important things I learned in makeup school is that it doesn't matter how high-end or expensive your makeup products are if you don't know how to apply them properly nor have the right tools to apply them with. My train case is filled with a wide variety of products that range from drugstore to high-end, but I get the most out of them because I know which tools to use for each. Makeup brushes can get expensive, yes, but it is essential that you invest on those that do the job AND are durable to last several years of use and washing. Real Techniques brushes are affordable enough and are excellent whether you're just starting to build your collection or you're already a pro and you're looking to purchase more brushes just because.

During a recent Sephora shopping session, I splurged on a few Real Techniques brushes.

Oops.

These arrived in less than a week. I actually wasn't aware that the Pixiwoo sisters have released this many types of brushes already! It was so exciting reading each one's descriptions and deciding which ones to put in my cart. In the end, these won and now I'm going to share the descriptions of each one.

Review: Maybelline Powder Mattes by Color Sensational

22 April 2017

Maybelline keeps on releasing awesome collections after another, I can barely keep up! No complaints, though, especially after they released my favorite lipstick formula yet. Hello, friends. I'm here to talk about the Powder Mattes by Color Sensational from Maybelline New York.

Matte lipsticks are huge right now and I'm one of those who have been taken in by this trend completely, but even I admit how some of my favorite mattes feel dry and heavy on my lips. Worse, they leave my lips looking really parched. Eep, not a good look. When I first heard of the Maybelline Powder Mattes during the launch of #MaybellineSquadPH, I couldn't wait to try it out. And now I have five of the top favorite shades on my hands!

Here's a closer look on all five colors and my quick thoughts on each.

The PANDORA's box has been opened

21 April 2017

Chandeliers, cheesecake, and charm bracelets make me happy, says my blog's sidebar. It's not just an alliteration thrown in mindlessly; it's a fact. Today, I made myself extra happy by getting my very first PANDORA jewelry - a PANDORA Charm Bracelet in Sterling Silver

I only went to SM Aura with my officemate/ friend Hannah to eat lunch and possibly get milk tea, but I walked back to the office with a full tummy, a Stromboli to-go, and a paper bag from PANDORA.

Blame Hannah for being an enabler.

It's one of those rare expensive buys where I didn't feel instant guilt and remorse after, though. Probably because I've been wanting to start building a legit charm bracelet made of my milestones and it's only today that the stars aligned for me to do so.

Still, I've only just come from two trips out of the country and I should be replenishing my savings, so what was I thinking walking into a jewelry store, psyching myself up that I was simply there to "just look around"?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

NO REGRETS. What, it's my birthday gift to myself, okay??

The truth is I'm a big sentimental cheese-ball. I'm a magpie pack-rat and I keep a lot of stuff for its sentimental value, not acknowledging the fact that I can barely sleep in my room anymore because of all the stuff lying around.

I actually wanted to get a charm bracelet at the Universal Studios in Singapore. There was a really pretty Swarovski bracelet I wanted to get and there was even a promo wherein you could get a tennis bracelet for free for an initial purchase of just 50SGD! I stopped myself though because I've already purchased a lot of books and I still needed to mind my budget for the next coming days. I regretted not getting it, but I'm much happier with my PANDORA now!

FaceBookIt: Better At Weddings Than You by Mina V. Esguerra

20 April 2017

Sometimes, a romance book hits all the right spots, and you are left thinking about it even days after you finish reading it. Sometimes, you even make a makeup look dedicated to it.

Hello, friends, this FaceBookIt entry is inspired by Mina V. Esguerra’s new book, Better At Weddings Than You.

In this story, there’s a wedding to plan. The bride-to-be is in love with the wedding planner who coincidentally is a friend from way back. The groom-to-be fires aforementioned wedding planner and hires our main character to take over a month before the wedding. Instant attraction. Clothes are shed. What now?

Happy 3, FAVORI!

19 April 2017

It was a productive first day back in the office for me today after almost two weeks of one quarter work trip and three quarters vacation. Public Relations is an industry that never sleeps so in that short span of time I feel like I already missed a lot. I spent most of the day catching up and reading my 112 unread emails and the latter part eating my heart out at a food tasting for our newest client. All was well.

Our vacation felt too short and I really wanted to stay some more, but a little part of me also looked forward to being in my work desk again. We transferred to a new office unit (in the same building) and I have a new work desk that I organized in my own way - serenity in chaos-style.

Aside from my toys and the creative mess I've made, one of my favorite work desk buddies is my FAVORI Egg Aerator. I've collected quite a few oils that I rotate according to my mood. I can say it has helped me tremendously by perking up my spirits even when I'm already stressed. I really love it and you should get one for your work desk, too!

In case you're interested, FAVORI is having a special Buy One, Get One Promo for all their mall customers tomorrow, April 20, in celebration of their 3rd Anniversary!

Wherever I'm going, I'm already home.

18 April 2017

I just came back from spending an entire week in Singapore with my boyfriend and friends. (Huge thanks to my sunshine and serenade-in-a-box Ed for hosting our stay!) It was such a fun trip and I would love to post more photos and share more stories about the places we visited as soon as I get more time, but right now I just couldn't let this day pass without writing a quick post. It's my first time to travel out of the country with Jeremiah so yay for another milestone!

31

10 April 2017

So... I turned 31 and didn't even think of blogging about it until four days after.

I guess that's how it is when you get older? You feel... less. I definitely feel more low-key these days. My boyfriend says I'm still a huge dramatic showcase, though.

I spent the weekend in Malaysia but it was for work so I didn't really get the chance to go around and explore Kuala Lumpur. That's fine. I'll have plenty of exploring to do this week. Tomorrow I'm flying again, this time to Singapore with my boyfriend and friends to visit my sunshine and serenade-in-a-box Ed. It'll be my third time in the Lion City but I don't mind because there's always something new to see.

Can't wait. ♥

This is a story about a girl named Bryttel

05 April 2017

Hello, I am Krissy, and today's my last day as a 30 year old lady.

When I was in sixth grade and was no longer a girl but not yet a woman, I saw a girl in pigtails singing ...Baby One More Time! on MTV and my life was never the same.

I got the casette tapes and CDs of her albums, I memorized her songs, I watched every hit chart closely, I bought all sorts of song hits and magazines with her on the cover, I hung up posters in my room, I collected stickers, books, and other merch, I watched her movie Crossroads on the opening day, I did everything short of going to another continent to watch her perform live. Aside from my studies and books, Britney Spears consumed all my waking days. I even forced my classmates to start calling me Bryttel, my amalgamation of our names.

I can't tell you how many times I watched my DVDs of Britney: Live in Hawaii and Dream Within a Dream. I was and am such a HUGE fan.

When 2008 happened, I was really scared she wouldn't be able to pull through. I dreaded seeing news about her downward spiral because I was expecting the worst. But look at her now.

It's Britney, b*tch.

AND I'M GOING TO SEE HER PERFORM LIVE ON JUNE 15!!!

SHE'S GOING TO MANILA AND I'M GOING TO SEE HER LIVE!

MY CHILDHOOD DREAM IS GOING TO COME TRUE AND IT WILL BE FANTASTAMAZING!!!
