Let's talk about make-up.

10 February 2011

Most days I am just your normal powder-and-lipgloss girl (I also very rarely wear make-up to work). But there are also days when I want to look more presentable - and yes, prettier - like when I go to events, meet up with friends, go on dates, or pose for photos. In days like these, I have my ever-reliable train case to turn to.

I have always said that I am a total make-up newbie. There was a time when I put make-up on a friend and she looked like she got punched in the face x_x I got scared to try it again lest I lose my friends (haha) but through the help of Youtube tutorials and poring over my copies of Allure magazine I am proud to say I have gotten considerably better since then! I did my friend Michelle's make-up on our Annual Party and she looked great! Of course she is already pretty to begin with ^^,

Unlike other girls who have amassed quite a huge collection of cosmetics already, my train case is filled with my favorite and tried-and-tested products. Since I don't really use them regularly I make sure I'll get the best bang for my buck before parting with my hard-earned cash.(I am only an impulsive shopper when it comes to shoes, clothes and books, you see.) Thank God for the Internet because I get to visit various beauty blogs first to read reviews before making up my mind about buying a certain product. There are some products that didn't meet my expectations though (I am looking at you, elf Cream Eyeliner) so I removed them from my train case already.

Anyhoo, time for a Show-and-Tell of my beauty case!

Why do make-up companies give their products really long names? :D Anyway, my train case just stays in my apartment. During times I have to go to my parents' home or stay overnight in someplace, or go somewhere far and I'd need to bring make-up, I bring this:

My Penshoppe pouch with two pockets and two zippered compartments, a perfect travel companion
Please understand though that I don't really wear make-up that much, but I can never leave home without my face powder, oil-blotting paper, and a lipstick (which varies depending on my outfit and mood). But still, it doesn't matter how much make-up you pile on, (good skin and) a smile is still the best prettifier ;)
