I was a totally lousy blogger last year and if it wasn't for Netflix showing FRIENDS again I would have forgotten writing about this experience. So, yes, it has been almost a year now, but I'd like to share our visit to Central Perk in Singapore.
For our first trip out of the country together, my boyfriend and I went to Singapore for my birthday month last year. Together with my friends Ronnie, Kayle, and JV, we were hosted by our friend Ed who is currently working there. For the last two days of our trip though, they planned to go to Malaysia while we opted to stay and explore the Lion City more on our own.
It was already our sixth day there and we were already feeling confident we wouldn't get lost, having been spoiled by the efficiency of their transportation system. Armed with only our data plan and good ol' Google Maps, we were able to find our way to Central Perk!
Being a fan of the show, the interiors instantly made me feel right at home!
They have a projector that screens FRIENDS episodes all day, every day.
Looking around the café certainly made me feel giddy because it looks exactly how I imagined it to be, down to the orange couch! We wanted to sit on it but we were advised customers need to call in to reserve it beforehand. This is perfectly understandable as the orange couch is surely very popular among the show's fans. We settled for one of the tall tables and chairs instead.
I wish I took a photo of the menu, but you can view the online version on their website.
We already had lunch in a hole-in-the-wall serving authentic Chicken Rice, so we ordered desserts.
Even the food are FRIENDS-themed! You may remember the cheesecake as the one they fought over because it was too good.
Quality and presentation are A+++ although I'm pretty sure I have had better cheesecakes, mud cakes, and even coffee in my lifetime. Still, there's something about ordering these FRIENDS-themed desserts at a FRIENDS-themed café that makes them doubly special and worth trying even with the hefty price tag. (We tried hard not to convert to local currency when we spend there, but the food here are more expensive than the local fare even without converting to Philippine Peso.)
After eating or while waiting for your order, you might want to drop by the other side of the restaurant to see more props from the show. Make your visit more fun by inserting a little competition: bet your companion that you're better at naming the episode where the props were shown.
My favorite is the replication they made of Monica's kitchen.
They also have merchandise available for sale, perfect for souvenirs. I wanted to take home a coffee mug but I was worried it will just break in transit.
We did not stay long because we still had several places we wanted to squeeze in and visit, but we truly enjoyed our Central Perk experience. My advice? Go for the novelty, stay for the food, and just relish it because it's the nearest you can get to one of the most iconic television shows of all time. We will definitely go back and taste the other dishes in the future!
To exploring more places, eating more food, and experiencing more things with you, bb!

My boyfriend playfully (and I use the term loosely) scolds me whenever I look back at grievances other people have done to me, saying I should stop living in the past and memories shouldn't hurt me anymore. But I can't help it if certain things affected me so much that I can still remember - vividly - the feelings I felt when I first felt them, months (and years, even) after. They're not all bad memories, anyway. There are a lot of good memories too, but I guess pain leaves deeper marks than happiness.
Whew, what an emo introduction. Whatever. I'm getting cheese fries.
I don't know, but I guess now is a good time as any to remember my favorite TV show in the world.
Happy 11th Anniversary, you guys. ♥
I'll make this short and sweet since I've written about How I Met Your Mother a LOT of times already (I even have watercolor paintings inspired by the show, of which this one is my favorite), but I just wanted to highlight here my favorites.
The Yellow Umbrella
"The great moments of your life won't necessarily be the things you do. They'll also be the things that happen to you. Now I'm not saying you can't take action to affect the outcome of your life. You have to take action. And you will! But never forget that on any day, you could step out the front door and your whole life could change forever. You see, the Universe has a plan kids, and that plan is always in motion. A butterfly flaps its wings and it starts to rain. It's a scary thought, but it's also kind of wonderful. All these little parts of the machine constantly working... Making sure that you end up exactly where you're supposed to be, exactly when you're supposed to be there. The right place, at the right time."
Like it blows my mind how I landed my previous job AND my current job, as well as my missed connections with Miah that could've made us meet years ago. Should've, could've, would've, but things happened the way they're supposed to happen. Amazing.

Thank you, Ted Mosby, Marshall Eriksen, Robin Scherbatsky, Barney Stinson, Lily Aldrin, and Tracy McConnell. Thank you, MacLaren's. You don't know the impact of your show to my life but I am so grateful to you for bringing these characters to life. Thank you, Ed, for introducing this show to me. I am grateful you're my friend, and I'm grateful I listened to you when you told me that I MUST watch this show.

Because there are a lot of things that happened in my life that can attest to this quote:

"An affirmation of hopefulness and optimism... A valentine to things like friendship and love." No sweeter words from the creators could have been spoken. Thank you, Carter and Craig.
I was looking forward to another How I Met Your Mother marathon but welp, my portable hard drive got busted. I've had Season 1 of You're the Worst for a while now that I've already forgotten where I first heard about it, so I thought of watching a few episodes just for the heck of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
BEST. DECISION. EVER. You're the Worst is my new favorite thing on TV!
You're the Worst isn't a typical romantic comedy. Narcissist Jimmy Shive-Overly thinks all relationships are doomed from the start, while stubborn cynic Gretchen Cutler is certain that amorous bonds aren't her thing. When the two meet at a wedding, though, there's a sea change: They go home together and find they're beginning to fall for each other. Jimmy and Gretchen navigate fear, heartbreak, ardor and other feelings, while their situation seems to establish that nontraditionalists sometimes make great partners.
Jimmy is a novelist/ writer while Gretchen works in PR, but those are not the main reasons why I love this show. Jimmy can be a tad dramatic and a bit overbearing at times especially when he goes on his endless rants but somehow his British accent makes it okay. Heh. Meanwhile, Gretchen is like the coolest girl in your class that you want to be friends with. Ugh, she's just so pretty I can stare at her face forever. Lending support to the duo are Gretchen's best friend Lindsay who is married to Paul, a wealthy executive who seems to have a LOT of time for his hobbies, and Jimmy's roommate Edgar, an ex-war veteran dealing with PTSD who seriously wants to turn his life back around. Rounding up the cast are Jimmy's ex Becca and her husband Vernon and Gretchen's clients Sam Dresden, Honey Nutz, and Shitstain. Yup. They are all terrible people who make terrible decisions but somehow you find yourself identifying with and rooting for them. Except for Becca. Becca is the worst. LOL.
Aside from the great cast, snappy script, and witty banter, I love the show's character development. The description is right, though; this isn't your typical romantic comedy so don't watch it expecting grand gestures. Instead, watch out for those secret smiles, those little nuances that show Jimmy and Gretchen's feelings develop over the course of the two seasons. It also tackles mental issues like PTSD and clinical depression without taking it lightly or making a joke out of it. I don't want to spoil it for you so I won't say anything more except that YOU REALLY HAVE TO WATCH IT NOW.
I love that the show isn't drawn out too long, but I hate that I'm already done binge-watching it in just a short period. Iwant need moar.

Wherever you are in the world today, I hope you had a lovely Christmas with the people you hold most dear. ♥
There must be something in the water air because I know it's just not me - everyone gets reflective as the year draws to a close. As I get ready to say goodbye to 2014 and welcome 2015 (and my new planner/ journal!), I look back on the months that passed and determine which things I'd like to change and things I'd want to remain the same, whether I was able to accomplish the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year, and whether I like this version of myself I am turning out to be.
Earlier today I bought myself this app for the iPhone to jump-start my writing whenever I encounter writer's block. I have about fifty unused notebooks and journals in my room but I have taken to typing my thoughts down on my phone's Notes. I don't know why I am doing this. Convenience? Ease? Undecipherable penmanship? Either way this system works for me, and I figured if I make use of writing prompts I can even have more ideas to blog about (like what I am doing now). Sometimes the (non-suicidal/ non-violent) voices in my head get too noisy that I need one topic to resonate more so I can stick with it, lest I get wayward and not arrive at something cohesive nor coherent.
So. Back to the app. As the name implies, Creative Writing Prompts gives starting lines and writing prompts to help inspire the writer. The first prompt I got is highlighted in bold:
For the last three days I could do nothing but think about choices, possibilities, and second chances.
As what I was jarringly reminded of by my Uncle's passing, life is too short and we're only here for a limited amount of time. If there is anything I regret about Kuya's death, it's that I feel like I didn't tell him enough how much I loved him. Ever since he left, my close-knit family became even tighter, with all of us clutching to one another for support. Hugs and kisses became even more frequent, and no shortage of I love you's was had. I want to make the most out of the time I have left so I say yes to all possibilities, sometimes without even giving myself time to think first before I leap. In the split second of hesitation where doubt starts to creep in, I've had already said yes. This has, admittedly, caused me some trouble as well, but what is life without a little risk?
Meanwhile, recent occurrences also made me rethink my life choices and question whether a second chance is a viable option. I've crashed and burned several times already and truth be told, I'm getting a little tired. Maybe the truth is that I was meant to tread a different path all along? One that leads to the exact same path I used to trudge, but one I sadly and regrettably wandered from? I don't know. I pray I get an answer soon, and I hope it's a yes.
This is a watercolor painting I worked on all Sunday afternoon while watching the first season of How I Met Your Mother for the nth time. For those not familiar with the scene (but WHY?), it's from the finale, where Ted finally meets The Mother at the Farhampton station.
When you think about it, all of Ted's choices and missteps led to him finding the right girl at the right time. Now I know it's fiction but still. Isn't fiction inspired by life? Am I above thinking things like this don't happen in real life? I don't know, I guess I'm just too much of a hopeless romantic, but I'd like to believe that the same will happen for me. "It's funny how sometimes, you just find things," and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

It was a long road. You might even say it was really, really, really long. But difficult? Nah. It was life. Things happen in life. Things fall apart. Things get put back together. When I think how lucky I am to wake up next to your mom every morning, I can't help but be amazed at how easy it all really was.
All I had to do was get out of the apartment for a couple hours so Uncle Marshall could propose to Aunt Lily, go to the bar, meet your Aunt Robin, convince your Aunt Robin to fall in love with me, break up with your Aunt Robin, go on the rebound, go get a rebound tattoo, go get the rebound tattoo removed, meet Stella, convince Stella to fall in love with me, get engaged, get left at the altar, get fired, get beat up by a goat, get a job as a professor, teach the wrong class, date the wrong girl, date the wrong girl again, date the wrong girl a few times actually, let Uncle Barney fall in love with Aunt Robin, let Aunt Robin fall in love with Uncle Barney, book the wedding band, go to their wedding, make sure their wedding actually happened, leave a little early, be in the right place at the right time, and somehow, summon the guts to do the stupidest, most impossible thing in the world: Walk up to that beautiful girl standing under the yellow umbrella... and start talking.
See? Easy. And that, kids, is how I met your mother.(It was so difficult and my skills weren't at par with what I envisioned; I almost gave up, but all efforts paid off when I finally finished it and when Carter Bays, one of the show's creators, called my painting "lovely." LOVELY.)
When you think about it, all of Ted's choices and missteps led to him finding the right girl at the right time. Now I know it's fiction but still. Isn't fiction inspired by life? There are a few times in your life when you'll be touched by a book, or a movie, or a song. In my case, I have encountered more than enough works of fiction that have struck me and changed my views, but nothing has made quite an impact on me as much as How I Met Your Mother. It's a treasure trove of stories, pop culture references, and comedy gold but most importantly, it is chock-full of quotable quotes from Ted, Barney, Marshall, Robin, and Barney that any lover of words will certainly appreciate. For my [delayed] 28th birthday post, let me share with you 28 of my top favorites, in no particular order.
- Never forget that on any day, you could step out the front door and your whole life could change forever. The right place, at the right time.
- But that's the funny thing about destiny, it happens whether you plan it or not. Turns out, I was just too close to the puzzle to see the picture that was forming.
- I think for the most part, if you're really honest with yourself about what you want out of life, life gives it to you.
- Here's the thing about mistakes: sometimes, even when you know something's a mistake, you have to make it anyway.
- There are certain things in life where you know it's a mistake but you don't really know it's a mistake because the only way to really know it is a mistake is to make that mistake and look back and say, "Yup, that was a mistake". So really, the bigger mistake would be to not make the mistake because then you'll go your whole life not really knowing if something is a mistake or not.
- You can find problems with every decision, but you can't let that stop you.
- If you're not scared, you're not taking a chance. If you're not taking a chance, what the hell are you doing?
- Just because something needs to be told doesn't always mean it needs to be heard.
- The eggs are already cracked, so let's make sure we make some great omelettes out of them.
- When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
- When it's after 2AM, just go to sleep. Because the decisions you make after 2AM are the wrong decisions.
- If all nights are legendary, no night is legendary.
- Sometimes things need to fall apart to make way for better things.
- Kids. you can't cling to the past. Because no matter how tightly you hold on, it's already gone.
- Doesn't being scared let you know you're on to something important?
- If you have chemistry, you only need one other thing. Timing. But timing's a bitch.
- We spend so much effort trying to keep parts of our lives hidden, even from our closest friends. But in those rare times when we do open up, it's amazing how minor those secrets all end up being.
- The future is scary, but you can't just run back to the past because it's familiar. Yes it's tempting, but it's a mistake.
- Being in a couple is hard. And committing, making sacrifices... it's hard. But if it's the right person, it's easy. Looking at that girl, and knowing she's all you really want out of life, that should be the easiest thing in the world. And if it's not like that, then she's not the one.
- You can ask the universe for signs all you want, but ultimately, we only see what we want to see when we're ready to see it.
- You can't jump straight to the end. The journey is the best part.
- Because maybe it's dumb to look for signs from the universe, maybe the universe has better things to do - and dear God, I hope it does. Do you know how many signs I've gotten, how I should and shouldn't be with someone? Where has it gotten me? Maybe there aren't any signs. Maybe a locket's just a locket; a chair's just a chair. Maybe we don't have to give meaning to every little thing. Maybe we don't need the universe to tell us what we really want. Maybe we already know that. Deep down.
- Why not just say goodbye to the bad things? Say goodbye to all the times you felt lost. To all the times it was a no instead of a yes. To all the scrapes and bruises. To all the heartache. Say goodbye to everything you really want to do for the last time.
- When you love someone you just, you...you don't stop. Ever. Even when people roll their eyes or call you crazy. Even then. Especially then. You just- you don't give up because if I could give up... If I could just, you know, take the whole world's advice and- and move on and find someone else, that wouldn't be love. That would be... That would be some other disposable thing that is not worth fighting for.
- Whatever you do in this life, it's not legendary unless your friends are there to see it.
- But love doesn't make sense. You can't logic your way into or out of it. Love is totally nonsensical. But we have to keep doing it, or else we're lost and love is dead and humanity should just pack it in. Because love is the best thing we do.
- And that's how it goes, kids. The friends, neighbors, drinking buddies, and partners-in-crime you loved so much when you're young - as the years go by, you just lose touch. You will be shocked, kids, when you discover how easy it is to part ways with people forever. That's why when you find someone you want to keep around, you do something about it.
It's true that this life is sweeter than fiction, but in this big bad world of confusion and loss and madness, it's comforting to have a non-judging fictional gang of friends to turn to and help you make sense of things. This non-fiction life that I have has a lot of bumps, sure, but it's pretty legendary. With the MacLaren's gang, though, I am much more inspired to create better stories.
As you know, I had the idea for a How I Met Your Mother-themed birthday party about three weeks ago. I'm a very passionate person and I'm so enthusiastic about things I love; couple that with my wanting to channel my feelings over the imminent finale of my favorite TV show in all the world, and you got the perfect spell to make my personal level of excitement really go up the charts.
Every Saturday and Sunday since was a DIY day with my sister
I wanted to make it more difficult for myself give myself a hard time give it a handmade-feel so I made sure to DIY as much as I could. That meant refraining from getting digital images online and printing them.
I finally made a perfect yellow umbrella stamp!
My first attempt was a big fail so I was very happy with this.
I also made a letter K written in calligraphy, although I think it looks more like an H.
The most challenging to make was the Ducky Tie! The finished "product" was a hit, though. My friend Alex took it home!

I'm proud to say that since I already have most of these materials at home, I spent less than P1,000 for everything. It was very, very tempting to shop for cute stuff, though! Like this 3D puzzle of the Empire State Building I would have liked to make into a replica of the GNB Building:
I know I wouldn't have much use for it after the party though, so I put it back and got cardboard instead.

The How I Met Your Music soundtrack was played all night, together with my favorite songs from Fun, One Direction, Train, and Imagine Dragons. We also watched the last two episodes!
Would you like to hire me as an event stylist? Kidding! Or not.
Half the fun I felt was preparing everything and putting together many different elements from the show. And even though some of my friends don't watch the show, they're still considerate and thoughtful enough to think of presents fitting for the theme. And of course, a party will never be successful without the most important part: the guests! Watch out for my next post. ;)
Sticks and stones may break your bones but TV shows and books will crush your soul to a million pieces.
Much has been said about the finale of How I Met Your Mother. When I first saw it yesterday amidst a box of tissues, I felt it was a perfect and satisfying ending. Without spoiling the show, I immediately sent messages to my friends who also watch it because I couldn't contain my *feels*. However, after thinking about it and talking it out to some friends who didn't like it, I thought that hey, maybe these are just graduation goggles and my over-all feelings about the show is just clouding my judgment.
I watched the two-part finale again earlier today, and nope, not graduation goggles.
Except for Barney's flaky character development, I liked it. However flawed and imperfect the ending was [and ugly some of their wigs were], I still found it apt and satisfying. I said before that I just want Ted to be happy and in the end that's what happened, even though it was something we theorized but not really what we expected. He has come full circle, and although it took quite a while (nine seasons with the last two of them feeling like duds TBH) what's important (to me at least, because he's the fictional character I can relate to the most) is that he got there.
So yeah, much has been said about the finale, but I think my favorite so far is this Thought Catalog article. You should also check out Josh Radnor's interview here. I love his work and I wish he comes up with more movies.
I'll probably be able to write more about my *feelings* in the future, but at the moment these are my initial thoughts. How I Met Your Mother is the TV show I talked about the most in this blog, and now that it's gone, I don't think something else will replace its hole in my heart anytime soon.
More than all the friendship and love lessons from Ted, Barney, Robin, Lily, and Marshall, the show's format really stuck with me because, like what I wrote on my calligraphy postcard, it's a constant reminder that "these moments will be stories one day," and I have to make the most out of it so I can have a great life full of great stories.
Oh MacLaren's gang, thank you for this beautiful crazy awesome wonderful ride. I will miss all of you so much.
Now I'm experiencing birthday blues (which is weird because I don't normally get birthday blues; I get new year blues) but I mustn't let it get to me. Back to preparing for my party!

Last day of the first quarter of 2014, what up.
March flew by so fast, I feel like I didn't even get a single deep breath in.
This month I: worked from 8AM to 1AM because we had two events on the same day; learned calligraphy; went to the first baby shower I've ever been to; read a charming book; became an instant fan of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis; had a buffet dinner; sucked at bowling; and most importantly, fell in love with my favorite TV show over and over again that I am having too much trouble letting it go, that I decided to plan a How I Met Your Mother-themed birthday party.

The finale episode of my favorite show in all the world airs tomorrow and no, I am not, cannot, will not be ready for this.
In the days leading to the 31st of March in the US (1st of April here), I channeled my energy and "feels" towards making sure that my party decors will be perfect. Here are just some of the stuff I made over the weekend.
Small cardboard cut-outs (including an elaborately done Ducky Tie) as props for photos, a chalkboard for the menu, and banners
Not included in the photo is my party's pièce de résistance: a handmade The Krissy Code book as a play on Barney's infamous The Bro Code. It is where I will make my guests write birthday greetings for me and it will be awesome! I also got my birthday dress earlier today and it's so pretty and dainty and perfect! Aside from the food, my party is already 83% locked in. I just need to make an Intervention Banner and a mini replica of the GNB Building and I'm done!
Oh Ted, Robin, Barney, Marshall, and Lily, how can I say goodbye.
I can, but it feels so sad knowing there'll be no new episodes to look forward to. But then, I rest in the knowledge that they're just a media player away and each revisit will offer new ways of learning from their stories. After all, I become a different person each time.
Might be nice to start a tradition with friends to get together and watch it with at least once every three years, yes?

Might be nice to start a tradition with friends to get together and watch it with at least once every three years, yes?
It all started as a joke.
I was chatting with my friends Ed and Jonas about the inevitable end of the greatest and my most favorite show on Earth, How I Met Your Mother. We talked about how extremely sad we will be when the finale airs because there'll be no future episodes to look forward to, which eventually led to Jonas suggesting we put up a support group and watch the finale together. He said we should refrain from watching it by ourselves, like that episode where the MacLaren's gang tried their hardest not to see the Superbowl results as it has been their tradition to watch it together. I countered that it would be too difficult, so I said maybe we can just hold a viewing party the following weekend so we can watch it for possibly the nth time and then talk about our feelings. Everyone agreed.
There was only one problem: my birthday falls on that same weekend.
I want to celebrate my birthday and the greatest show in the world, so the solution: have a How I Met Your Mother-themed birthday party!
I LOVE theme parties but occasions for having them are few and far between. On my 24th birthday, my party's theme was Pink Positive, and it is one of my favorite birthday celebrations ever! I can see it being topped by this one, though.
These moments are going to be stories someday, and I want a kickass story about my 28th birthday!
I know that I have less than three weeks to prepare, but psh, details schmetails. I work in PR - I make the impossible possible!
There are a LOT to be done, though. Good thing I have my friend Ed, my expansive knowledge about the show, and Pinterest to help me!
And so the planning begins...

My aim is not only to celebrate HIMYM, but also to not alienate my guests who have never seen an episode of the show. Hah. I will DIY 83% of the party decors and props, so I am going to be really, really busy! I don't mind, because it's going to be legen-wait for it-dary! Legendary!
Other people have complained about how Ted is just a whiny hopeless romantic sap. Maybe he is. But then again, I have never related to any other fictional character as much as I related to him. Sigh. I just love the show and the characters so much!
There are some theories pointing out that How I Met Your Mother will end tragically. Well, I hope Ted gets to live a long life with The Mother. He deserves to be happy. But, well, however the creators Cartey Bays and Craig Thomas chose to end it, I'm sure it is real, poetic, and beautiful.
Can you help me come up with a nice hashtag for this party? So far I have #Celebrate28, #HaveYouMetKrissy, and #LegenwaitforitdaryKrissyParty. Thoughts?
Hoo boy. Advanced happy birthday to me! Celebratory high five!
“That awkward moment when you finish watching a TV series and you don’t know what to do with your life any more.”
It took me a little more than six months, but I finally finished watching all ten seasons of FRIENDS. I was still very young and only cared for books when the show started, you see; I only began watching it when it's on the 9th season already.
I think everyone who has watched it has a favorite character, but I honestly can't decide who mine is. Unlike How I Met Your Mother where I decided early on that *I am such a Ted*, I'm going back and forth everyone in the group because I really can't pick — I love each one of them and their little quirks: nerdy Ross, funny Chandler, charming Joey, OC Monica, fabulous Rachel, and, in Mike's words, "wonderfully weird" Phoebe. I guess that's one of the reasons why FRIENDS is so widely accepted: at some point everyone has identified with each of the characters in one way or another!
The best thing I love about the show is how it has withstood the test of time and how it has become one of those modern classics that everyone will love going back to every once in a while. The jokes are still funny many years after the TV show first aired, and I really think it's great thatunlike Sex and the City that seemed like it dug its own grave what with the terrible second movie the producers didn't milk its popularity dry and instead left while they're still on top of their game. My least favorite part is the Joey-Rachel pairing, though.
So, yeah, I finally finished watching all ten seasons of FRIENDS. Now what? Time to get serious on my 40 Books and Most Number of Movies Watched for 2014 challenges, then.

Sooo... This is it guys. It's happening. In a few hours, the first episode of the last season of How I Met Your Mother - my favorite TV show in all the world - will be shown, and then I would have to start saying goodbye to Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin, and Barney. As with other imminent sadness, I don't think I'm ready yet. I don't think I'll ever be ready. But yes, as with everything in life, all good things must come to an end. Better to leave on a high note than do a Sex and the City 2, right?
The Mother was finally revealed to us in the last episode of Season 8. Like a lot of people, I was baffled by how she resembled Lily. After reading her interviews, I warmed up to her and saw what the producers might have seen during her audition. Also, Ted loves her, so she must be amazing.

I almost never wanted to meet her, but Ted deserves to be happy. Now I see this and I think: perfect ♥ I love them already.
I've followed a lot of TV shows, I've watched a lot of movies, and I've read a helluva lot of books, but no other fictional characters have struck a chord in me as the MacLaren's gang has. They're funny, clever, good-natured, complement one another so well, and they look out for each and everyone. I've also declared multiple times about how I feel I am a female Ted Mosby. Plus, being the complete and utter dork that I am, I get a kick out of the show's non-linear way of story-telling. I am always amazed by stories and shared experiences, and so to have a TV show that features those week after week makes me want to shout out a huge thank you(!!!) to the universe. One of the show's fans (as told by Ted/ Josh Radnor during this year's Comic Con) said it best: the concept of the show forces him to strive to make his life better because this is it, this is his life, and someday when he's old these will be the stories he will tell so he'd have to make the most out of it.
The blue French horn, the ducky tie, the red cowboy boots, and (of course) the yellow umbrella. I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss these things.

"An affirmation of hopefulness and optimism... A valentine to things like friendship and love." No sweeter words from the creators could have been spoken. Thank you, Carter and Craig.
I think I need someone to hold my hand while watching.

If there is anywhere in the world I wish I could have been in just a few hours ago, it would have been San Diego for Comic-Con. I don't care if I would have had to line up for hours or even camp there for days, I would have relished the experience like I do going to concerts.
Here are just four of the reasons why:
1. The cast of How I Met Your Mother

4. The new Catching Fire trailer and some of the cast!
I loved the Catching Fire panel and gushed at how adorable Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson answered the questions thrown at them. I just wish Josh could've been a wee bit taller, but perfect casting, I tell ya.
And of course, what we were all waiting for, the newest trailer of the movie version of the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy!
I must have watched it more than ten times. More production budget equals a more grandiose Captiol, I love it. We even had a peek at shirtless Finnick hee.
Katniss's wedding-turned-Mockingjay dress is nothing short of spectacular. Truly Cinna's finest hour, yes?
And can we all take a moment to appreciate how vulnerable yet fiercely brave Jennifer Lawrence looked here as Katniss Everdeen:
She is A.Ma.Zing. I watched The Hunger Games in the cinema thrice last year and there was not a single second that I wasn't convinced she was Katniss, fighting for her life in the arena. What a phenomenal actress.
And then I spent the rest of the afternoon watching old episodes of Glee and feeling sad again for Cory Monteith. Glee's execs have already addressed how they're going to address Finn's absence from the show, and that is that they are leaving it to Lea Michele, which I think was nice.
I spent half of Saturday sleeping and then more than half of today glued to my computer. I can't believe it's already Monday again tomorrow. But oh well, today was a good day for the different fandoms and nerds out there including myself, so I guess I can't really complain, can I? Ha ha have a happy week ahead!
