These are a few of my favorite [red] things.

13 June 2012

Another one of my weird eating habits: I love all things strawberry-flavored and -scented (perfume, lotion, stationery, juice, shortcake, mojito, etcetera etcetera, you get the picture) BUT I don't eat the fruit itself. Weird, huh? I know I am part of the minority here, but would you believe that while typing this, I actually felt like I wanted to rush to the nearest supermarket and buy some?

Some of my awesome blogger friends and I are going to Baguio next week and I know I will have my fill of fresh strawberries there! I'm so excited!!! Until then though, at least I have these strawberry-scented/ flavored goodies from The Body Shop [plus other red things] to tide me over!

TBS Strawberry Body Mist | TBS Strawberry Body Butter | Red satin bag from Fabrics in Style
Red L'Oreal lipstick | TBS Strawberry Born Lippy Lip Balm | TBS Strawberry Beautifying Oil
After the fun shoe shoppin' my longtime blog-friend and soul sister Ana and I did on Tuesday last week, we headed to The Body Shop's Glorietta branch for the Beauty with Heart event where we:

had our photos taken;
Hat - SM Accessories | Dress - Tomato | Bandeau - YRYS
Bag - Fabrics in Style | Flats - Solemate by Parisian
were treated to very relaxing hand massages;
consumed large amounts of cupcakes;
and were given makeovers!
Here is another photo after my makeover. Sarah commented that I looked glowing here, and that made me want to buy all the TBS products used on me haha. Low EQ alert!
During the event, they also discussed why they chose activist, model, and actor Lily Cole as their new brand advocate. Great job, TBS, for getting Lily! After the presentation, I felt like she was always meant to represent the brand as she is the perfect epitome of the advocates TBS is standing up for. I personally like The Body Shop because they are against animal testing, support community fair trade, activate self-esteem, defend human rights, and protect the planet. Seriously, what's not to like?

TBS collaborated with Lily Cole for this special line of cosmetics which will come out really soon.
They're so pretty, and I am excited to play with them when they are released :)
The two main stars during the event though were the Beautifying Oils and the repackaged Body Butters.

Shea, Olive, Moringa, Satsuma, and Strawberry.
It also comes in Chocomania.
The Beauty Oil can be used on the body, hair, and face! It instantly banishes dryness, restore softness, and nourish thanks to a special blend of three lightweight nut oils: marula nut oil, kukui nut oil, and sweet almond oil. They used this for the hand massage I mentioned earlier, and I loved that it's very light, non-sticky, and very fragrant but not in an overpowering way. I actually use it on my arms and legs before going to bed each night and my skin's loving it so far ♥

As you can see above, the Body Butters have a new look! If you remember my other post about my Sweet Lemon TBS Body Butter, you may see that the new look is bolder and better, with the focus on a single natural ingredient. Aside from Lemon and Strawberry, TBS Body Butters also come in Moringa, Satsuma, Shea, Mango, Olive, and Pink Grapefruit.

I really loved sniffing this Pink Grapefruit scented Body Butter.
It almost looked ready-to-eat haha.
What's funny is that I was just telling my fellow blogger/ friend Paul about how I loooove using body butters and how I was planning to use one after the Bloggers United Bazaar. He laughed because apparently the concept of "body butters" was a little too foreign for him, so I explained that they are just like body lotion, only a little bit thicker, and that I love slathering one before going to bed after a quick shower on a cold, rainy night :) Now he has his own body butter to try hehe.

Here are some photos from the event:

Me and my Seventeen Sigaw sister Joyce who coincidentally works for Full Circle Communications, the PR firm I did internship for, which now handles the TBS account.
As also shown in the photos of my favorite [red] things above, we were given goodies to try [which I really love to the point that I bring them with me every time I transfer to and from my apartment].

If there was a Sweet Lemon scent you know I would've chosen that, but because there's none, I'm still happy to welcome the Strawberry variant to my growing collection of bath and body products :)
The Body Mist is a welcome surprise! I really love its light fruity scent, and it has now become my go-to scent for casual days. My officemates love it too, that they even asked me to check the price for them. I did, and the sales assistants at TBS - SM Fairview were surprised that I already have one as they haven't been released yet. They even sniffed it and agreed that it smells sooo good! Cool! For those curious, the Body Mists cost P595 each.

BIG thanks to The Body Shop and Full Circle for inviting me! I can't wait for the TBS store opening in SM Mall of Asia towards the end of the month. If it'll be as good as the plans in the photos shown to us, I just know it'll be an amazing store. I'm so excited to see it!
