Up in the Air and Underwater

"Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you.
And sometimes, when you fall, you fly."
- Neil Gaiman, The Sandman Vol. 6: Fables and Reflections

I just got home from an overnight stay in Piña Colina Resort in Tagaytay with my officemates for our team building. I had to commute on my own to Tagaytay yesterday (in a non-aircon bus as it was already the last trip of the day) because I needed to attend an event first, and it was one of the most stressful commuting experiences of my life; I had half a mind not to follow them anymore and just go home and rest, but I had to do it because I gave my bosses and my nice officemates my word.

I managed to squeeze in only a couple of hours' worth of sleep, and then I woke up early this morning so I could take a swim. I got home to my parents' house at almost 3 o'clock this afternoon, but I still didn't get to sleep because I had a lot of things to attend to, lots of pending stuff to finish. So many things to do, so little time to do them. Sigh. This weekend and the coming week is going to be packed and I don't know where I'll get the energy to face them.

"Anyone else feel like that? Like your life's a big act. Like you're trying to be a man when you're just a scared kid, trying to keep under control when you really want to scream, cry, maybe hit someone. Ever feel like you're breathing underwater, and you have to stop because you're gulping in too much fluid?"
- Alex Finn, Breathing Underwater

My eyes were shut tight in all my shots underwater because I was wearing contacts and I was scared they'd float away... Haha.

Right now there's nothing my body would appreciate more than a good, long, dreamless night's sleep. And yes, right now I am going to do just that. It sucks that I will miss a chance to hang out with my closest and oldest friends tonight (I was supposed to meet them at Dianne's house), but tomorrow will be a long day (Baby Gab's christening and my Aunt Jean and Uncle Rico's house blessing) and I don't want to faint anytime during the two ceremonies. So... goodnight, goodnight ♥
