Pranzo-date alla Aria Cucina Italiana

16 April 2012

I've said this more than a dozen times already: I love Italian food. I got a taste of Italian perfection when I attended Aria Cucina Italiana's press luncheon two months ago, and I've been itching to go back since then! Especially since I didn't get to have dessert that day :(

Towards the end March, I was able to visit the restaurant again with my friend Ana, and I really hope you're not feeling hungry at the moment because I'll show you photos of all the delicious dishes we ate!

Let's start with antipasti:
Bread with oil and vinaigrette dip
Insalata
Insalata di cocomero, rucola e pinoli (P480)
Organic arugula with fresh watermelon, feta cheese and pine nuts in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Random trivia about me: I eat vegetables, but I don't eat vegetable salads. Weird, right?
I don't know, maybe it's because I don't like dressings and condiments.
Pasta
Marinara (P450)
A favorite seafood pasta of the Mediterranean coast. A choice of tomato or olive oil-based sauce.
I loved the sauce and the generous serving of seafoods like mussels, shrimp, and squid. It's one of my favorites from the press luncheon so I made sure I ordered it again.
Pizza
Rucola e pinoli (P590)
Cream sauce, mozzarella, fresh arugula and pine nuts.
My favorite! If I would have to choose just one type of pizza to eat in my lifetime, it would definitely be this!
I don't eat vegetables with my pizza but this, this one's a keeper ♥
Dolci
Mousse al due cioccolati (P190)
Layers of white and dark chocolate mousse pastry topped with ground hazelnuts
I didn't get to taste it during the luncheon because I had to leave before it was served, but because of Kira's recommendations I ordered it as well. I don't like mousse that much because some of them are too sweet for my liking, but two thumbs up for this one!
Bevande
Aria Shake (P170) for Ana and Frozen Iced Tea (P85) for me
Perfect for sipping by the beach on a hot and humid summer day. Sigh.
Our total bill came up to a little over P2,200. It might be a little too grand for just a simple lunch-date out, so maybe eating here is best reserved for special occasions, like romantic dates with your amore or birthday dinners. Or if you're like me who loves Italian food that much, I think it's okay to indulge yourself sometimes ;)
