Magical, memorable night with Mickey Mouse and Friends!

10 October 2011

Last night was a trip down memory lane for me as I watched Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival at the Araneta Coliseum with my family and fabulous friends! When I learned from Ed that our friend JV (of Vivre Fort Entertainment) will give us VIP tickets, I literally squealed with delight!

I was supposed to be given two tickets only (for me and my sister Kyla) but in the end I was able to bring my parents and five-year old cousin Jerico as well, so thank you JV!
I spent the travel time to Araneta practically bubbling with excitement! You see, one of my fondest childhood memories was watching Disney On Ice at the Araneta when I was still six or seven. My parents would always bring me and my brother Ken before, and I've always loved those shows! And now, look at me at 25 - acting like a kid again!

And now, let me share with you the Disney Live experience! This is quite picture-heavy, but I managed to take fairly good photos, thanks to our good seats!

I was surrounded by kids, but I didn't care!
The show began at exactly 7PM!
My heart almost jumped out my chest at this stage haha!
Donald! Minnie! Mickey! Goofy!

Aside from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, the show included "special guests": our favorite characters from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Toy Story! Each movie had their own segments, while the four characters danced in between and with them.

Genie!
Aladdin singing One Jump Ahead
The "street rat" meets Princess Jasmine
Aladdin's makeover into Prince Ali-Ababwa
A Whole New World
Awww. My favorite scene from any Disney movie EVER.
I cried at this. Melts my heart each time ♥
A short 15-minute intermission break, in which I was able to personally thank JV for the tickets :)

We were expecting Ariel, but it was Sebastian who popped out! :D
The mermaid-daughters of King Triton and Sebastian singing and dancing to Single Ladies! Hilarious!
Glow-in-the-dark fishes. This was beautiful :)
There you are, Princess Ariel!
Oooh, but there's Ursula! Who bears an uncanny resemblance to Genie! Haha!
Kiss the Girl
The Toy Soldiers from Toy Story!
This sequence reminded me of one of the performances in Michael Jackson's This Is It movie :)
Bulls-Eye and Woody!
Bulls-Eye doing some serious skipping rope!
"Meteors" fell from the sky and were thrown to the audience! It was FUN!
Jessie, Buzz, Woody

Aaand the curtains closed
I LOL'd when Mickey was described as the "hardest-working Mouse in show business" haha! It was awesome! I couldn't even begin to tell you guys how much I enjoyed the show! I wish you were all there last night as I'm sure you would have enjoyed it, too! I am not embarrassed to admit I clapped my hands with glee the whole time :D I sang along, I danced along, I clapped to my heart's content! I grew up to Disney movies, and even before J.K. Rowling came up with Harry Potter, these guys are my first loves

My sister Kyla, my Mama, my cousin Jeco, and my Papa
Khel, Precious, Mines, me, Dewi, Ed, and Ed's brother Pao
Why doesn't Disney make movies like they used to? Tangled was great, but it's not in the same league as The Lion King or The Beauty and the Beast.

Aladdin remains to be my favorite Disney movie. What's yours?
