Neutrogena Hydro Boost : Water for my Skin

04 December 2012

Hello, everyone! It took a while before I was able to publish this review ever since I got these products back in June, but as with other things it's better late than muuuch later ;)

Skin saviors
The proprietary HYDRO BOOST™ technology combines Hyaluronic Acid and Olive Extracts and works like a virtual reservoir to continuously supply up to 400% more moisture to dry skin cells.
I'll start with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel SPF30 PA++.

This innovative new formula combines the superior yet light-feeling moisture offered by the HYDRO BOOST™ line with the best sun protection from NEUTROGENA®. Skin is not just softer and suppler but protected from the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays.
I love that:

it has SPF. Need to explain more? No to harmful rays! No to skin cancer!

it comes with a pump. More economical and no product goes to waste.

The gel goes on sheer but if you notice from the photo, my skin looked "healthier" after absorbing the gel.
it gets absorbed easily by the skin after you apply all over. Lightweight, too. Please note that I have combination skin but this does not trigger the oilies, at least for me. I save time since I don't have to wait too long for the moisturizer to be absorbed completely before I put powder (or if I'm going somewhere special, makeup) on. My morning routine goes like this: my alarm clock rings at 4:30 but I get up at around 5. I eat breakfast, then spend 10-15 minutes showering, after which I apply this moisturizer on my face, put lotion all over my body, dress up, and then either apply my make-up or just put powder on. The short time it takes between me applying it to dressing up is enough for the gel to be absorbed by my skin. Perfect!

I don't like that:

the opaque bottle makes it impossible for me to see outright whether there is enough gel remaining or whether I would need to buy a new one soon. I love the color (turquoise/ teal is my second favorite color) but I wish the bottle could've been more translucent.

Each bottle of NEUTROGENA® HYDRO BOOST™ Gel SPF 30 PA++ is being sold for P999.

Now let's talk about the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel.

The proprietary HYDRO BOOST™ technology combines Hyaluronic Acid and Olive Extracts and works like a virtual reservoir to continuously supply up to 400% more moisture to dry skin cells. It keeps skin softer and suppler with a lasting healthy glow for up to 24 hours. The water-based gel formula also feels light and refreshing on the skin, perfect for the Filipina amidst the country’s hot and humid weather.
I love that:

it made my skin softer and more supple. I use this every night after washing my face and before going to bed, and I always wake up to soft and smooth skin! I especially love touching my face in the morning because of this ^_^

I didn't suffer any breakouts at all! It didn't clog my pores and cause blackheads like some night moisturizers did. I love it.

it's so lightweight that you won't even feel it's there. Check photos above to see how easy it got absorbed by my skin.

Halfway through
I can't really find anything to not like about this product, but some people might not be a fan of how it's packaged because of hygienic reasons. For me though, as long as you make sure your hands are clean before dipping your fingers into the jar, then it should be fine.

Each 50g pot of NEUTROGENA® HYDRO BOOST™ Water Gel is being sold for P830.00.

Over-all I think these two are great products and I would gladly repurchase (which I did — easily, via Neutrogena's new shopping channel online, which I will talk about on my next post).

I only have one policy when it comes to skincare: Don't fix what ain't broken. When I encounter something that already works great for me, I stick with it. I am not too experimental when it comes to my face or body. I've been using these two every day ever since I got them and I even bring them with me whenever I need to go out of town and sleep somewhere else, and as of the moment I don't have any intentions of replacing them with other products anytime soon.

What about you, what are your favorite moisturizers? Remember, it's never too early to start taking care of your skin!

  12. Outstanding review you left for us particularly the beauty and lovely skin seekers. Just discovered your thoughtful presentation regarding the Neotrogena Hydro boost water gel. The new formula with huge moisture facilities with skin smoothness you indicates was really worth to take a try. Surely i will try for myself. Do they have online ordering system? BTW I wanted to get some good reviews on how to improve skin radiance. But this was completely a good one to go.
