RAVENCLAW'd

06 September 2011

I received my Pottermore welcome email ten days ago but only got to log in last Sunday when we went to my aunt's house because I am still in a netbook-less and PC-less state (I feel sick of repeating that in every post I write haha).

I excitedly logged in (I'm GobletHeart18, ADD ME!), and was immediately transported back to my Potter-addicted days. I oohed and aahed at the beautiful images and kept my eyes fixed on the monitor, a bit scared that everything will disappear when I look away and I will wake up, still unable to log in to the site. Okay that was a bit stretching it, but whatever. I AM ONE OF THE ONE MILLION PEOPLE GIVEN EARLY ACCESS AND I LOVE IT. Seriously, it was like being ten years-old again, visiting my favorite toy store :)

Anyway, for those who do not care, you are free to click the X button on the top-right corner of your screen, because only a true Harry Potter fan would understand :) For those who do care but weren't able to register in the site for some reason, let me describe it to you the best way I can.

The site is mostly Flash-based so it is best to use a computer that can handle graphics well to maximize the experience. Upon logging in you will be put through a journey starting with Chapter One of the first book. There are hidden "Moments" that if you were able to find and click will unlock a story or trivia that is not in the books. Examples of Moments I have unlocked are Prof. McGonagall's childhood and Aunt Petunia's and Uncle Vernon's love story. Uh huh, if you thought JK Rowling's brilliance ended when she wrote the last word of the last chapter of the last book, you're mistaken. JK exhibits more of her creativity by writing new materials for Pottermore, and I admired her even more. She's a genius!

The site is also very interactive as it lets you "collect" stuff throughout the site that you can use for classes or send as a gift to friends. Oh yes this is also a social networking site as well, only it's between us *ehem* wizards and witches.

My heart leapt even more when I was able to open my own account at the Gringotts Wizarding Bank so I can use wizard money to buy things in my shopping list from the different stores in Diagon Alley.

We were given 500 galleons :)
After buying a barn owl as pet (for correspondences heehee), books, cauldrons and glass phials for myself, I went to Ollivander's so I can let a "wand choose me". Here's my wand:

So beautiful... My heart breaks just looking at it ♥
And before I knew it, it was time to go to Hogwarts!

I was asked to put on the Sorting Hat, and after answering the short quiz, I was sorted into the:

Ravenclaw House!
So amazing, because it was really the House I wanted to be sorted into! "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure." Awww I want to cry just now. But I'm just a bit worried because the Welcome Message did say that we won't have passwords to go into the common room, because we will be given puzzles to solve instead. I don't know if that's applicable to the book only or not, but what if that rule extends into Pottermore and I cannot answer the riddle? Haha!

With regret in my heart, I needed to stop exploring the site at Chapter 8 because my parents already wanted to go home.

Now I can't wait for my computer to be fixed so I can discover more things inside Pottermore, earn House Points, collect more stuff, and learn to make spells and brew potions!!!

Have you registered already? Add me please, I'm GobletHeart18 :)

But seriously, what happens if I couldn't answer the riddle?
