My domain is up for renewal next month and I have half a mind to not renew it anymore. This is the longest I have stayed with a domain (10 years. Wow. I feel ancient.) but I had been blogging on different platforms long before this.
I started this blog mostly to share my shopping hauls, book and movie reviews, and the occasional personal anecdotes. Have you been here since that major heartbreak circa 2010-2012? Ugh. Thank you and I applaud you for staying. It was the biggest proof that I treated this blog like a diary that is open for everyone to see.
Work, social life, taking care of my relationship, and commuting to and from work eat up my time these days and I know I sound like I am complaining but I'm really not. I have always found joy in writing and I am happy that this blog gives me the avenue to do that and more.
Through this blog, I met a lot of people who have become friends in real life. Friends from here and abroad whom I have had the pleasure to meet in person are proof that you can have friends anywhere. Krissyfied.com also paved the way for my rewarding career in Public Relations, because if not for this blog I wouldn't have met my bosses Celine and Jenny who trusted I could do this. Almost six years in and I still could not believe I'm doing this, and I really can't imagine myself doing anything else.
Aside from numerous perks like getting invited to events and trying different products before they're even released to the public, blogging also gave me the opportunity to earn. My day job still pays the bills and puts food on the table but extra spending monies is appreciated. Nonetheless, rest assured I hold myself and my blog to a high standard and integrity is always prioritized. Always.
Last year was probably my blog's lowest point, when I managed to write only 70 posts. It has been experiencing a steady decline over the years but I feel 70 is too few. I felt sad about the memories I didn't get to document, and felt bad for the brands who have been sending me stuff and inviting me to events that I didn't get to feature.

I started my Currently posts to pressure myself into producing content for this blog because I thought once I get the hang of it again, I would take better care to not lose my momentum. I think I succeeded in doing that, for a while. These days, when another Wednesday rolls around, I sigh and curse myself for starting this in the first place. I skipped twice or thrice because I don't know, I felt lazy, but I would feel bad after and curse myself some more. I've always believed posting nothing is better than publishing a half-assed blog post, but it felt like most of my previous weekly updates were written halfheartedly because I was forced into writing it, all to adhere to a schedule I have set myself.
I refuse to be forced into writing and I refuse to not find joy in the best hobby I have had. Thus, this will probably be my last Currently post for now.
I still have a ton of posts in my drafts and photos ready to accompany each, but I guess they would have to take the backseat for now. I just need to find my footing first.

Don't miss me when I'm gone.
See you again soon.
On Wednesdays we wear pink.
Except this photo was taken last Friday and I am not in the office today.
Heh.
We're on Work Anywhere Wednesday and I'm in J's house. He wanted to take me to his team meeting and just bring my laptop with me so I can work there but I refused. It's just too hot outside. I cannot. If I had my way I'll just stay inside the whole day but we're going to When in Manila's screening of Deadpool 2 later thanks to Anj, and who could say no to free movie tickets?
Not me.

READING
Still Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. It's not getting me as hooked as Angels & Demons did but I want to finish this.
THINKING
Of how I have over-spent. Ugh. I really need to learn how to control my finances.
FEELING
Okay, I guess.
LOVING
These are the newest additions to my piles and towers of unread books. I have already written about Legendary Ladies but I have yet to feature An Illustrated Tour of the Night Sky: What We See in the Stars. I have already flipped through the book though and I LOVED it. I am so excited to read it.
WANTING
Clothes, shoes, and accessories for my factory Neo Blythe, please. I also think she needs a face makeover as it's too glossy. I have yet to name her. Hit me up if you think of a name that suits her!
NEEDING
Exercise, enough number of hours of sleep, and proper diet.
WISHING
A happy anniversary for J and me next month. ♡
One of my favorite things about our company is the Work Anywhere Wednesday policy. Not only do I get to save on transportation, I also get to save a day's worth of snacks. I am a big snack-er which I'm trying to control but it's just so hard. Today though, I had to go to the office despite it being a Wednesday because I needed to meet with my officemates about our coming events.
I wore my new Uniqlo shirt featuring Kurama of Yuyu Hakusho from their Weekly Shonen Jump 50th Anniversary collection. I've only been back to work for three weeks but I have embraced Work Anywhere Wednesday completely that going to the office felt like working on a weekend, thus the casual getup. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

READING
Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. I know his works are formulaic but I enjoyed Angels & Demons and I was in the mood for a mystery thriller when I picked it up.
Also sharing my and J's loot from this year's Free Comic Book Day held last Saturday!
![]() |
The free comic books are from Planet X in Glorietta. The Image Firsts Compendium Volumes 1 and 2 (for J) and Stardust (for me) are from Fully Booked in BGC |
Stardust by Neil Gaiman is my favorite fairy tale and my second favorite book of his. I have been wanting this edition ever since I traded my paperback for a copy of Hitori Nakano's Train Man years ago but I had never had the chance to, until last Saturday. The 20% discount was too hard to resist.
WEARING
Aside from my new Maybelline Matte Metallics Lipstick in Gunmetal, I am also loving the new L'Oreal Color Riche Mattes. J and I also went to L'Oreal Philippines x Project Vanity's lipstick swatch party at the L'Oreal office on Saturday and I got to try them!
I love the new formulation with the velvety-smooth glide and intense pigmentation!
Even though I love most lip colors, I know my lips are made for pink lipsticks. I combined Raspberry Syrup and Soft Violet for this look.
The best thing about the lipstick party is getting a swag bag in exchange for our honest review! I got these pre-selected shades:
![]() |
Hinted Blush, Rich Merlot, and Rose Nuance |

Aside from the three mentioned, I also got their limited edition Red Carpet lipstick made in partnership with Cannes. So luxe! |
THINKING
Adult decisions. Decisions, decisions.
FEELING
Tired from work, a bit apprehensive, but optimistic.
LOVING
My new swimsuit from Coral Swimwear!
Our Saturday was packed as J and I also headed to Borough in BGC for the Coral Swimwear x Pearl Clothing Shopping Party.
It was so lovely to see my friend Patricia flourishing in the businesses she co-owns!
And I am so excited to wear my new swimsuit!
I got the Juliana that I wanted. I can't wait to wear it!
WANTING
This Benefit Cosmetics Blush Bar and this Rags2Riches Casey Mini. Huhu.
NEEDING
Exercise.
WISHING
A happy anniversary for J and me next month. We don't have concrete plans on how we will celebrate yet but I'm sure whatever it is, it will be great. Time flies and I can't believe we'll be marking our third year together very soon!
Thank you for reading. ♡
Hello! Noticed anything new?
Yes! krissyfied.com has a new look!
I was feeling sick of my old layout to the point I didn't really feel like writing new posts, hence the change.
Of course I also got back to work after my two month-break and it took a while before I adjusted to the crazy daily grind again.
But yes, I am back to being a PR girl.
I can't really announce anything yet because our employers have yet to make an official announcement, but there have been a lot of changes lately. It's a pretty big deal, though, and we even got a new office and all. My officemates transferred while I was on vacation, and so a new desk was waiting for me when I got back last week.
A new work desk means redecorating, and I am excited for the possibilities! I don't have anywhere to put a cork-board, though, but I love having a new permanent desk and a lot of new space.
Last Sunday, Alex asked me to get her plants from Market! Market! and I couldn't resist getting a plant for myself.
I think I'll name her Sinta. ♥
Avengers Infinity War also opened and as expected, broke blockbuster records last week.
I got to watch it twice: the first was on opening night thanks to Angel of When in Manila, and the second was on Friday thanks to our company's President and Chief Creative Officer. How generous. ♥ J and I were supposed to watch it again on IMAX last Saturday as we bought the tickets two weeks ago but we just gave them to his parents. Might as well, as both screenings left me feeling stunned and pretty drained. I can't wait for the next one!
Regular posts will resume. Thank you very much for dropping by and showing some love!

Remember the lavender grow kit my boyfriend J gave me almost a month ago? I followed every instruction to the letter but unfortunately none of the seeds germinated because they, together with most of the soil, got displaced by rainwater. Fortunately, there were a lot of seeds and I was careful about crowding them too much, as advised by the instructions, so I put the rest in another pot with an almost dying plant.
![]() |
It's the lavender that could. ♡ |
It's such a beautiful sight and I was so encouraged that I got another grow kit again when we dropped by ACE Hardware in SM Aura after church service last Sunday!
There were a lot of grow kits to choose from (there was even a bigger version of my lavender grow kit, plus other plants from the same brand!) but I ended up choosing this Italian Parsley set:
Not only is this kit cheaper, it also includes fertilizer, plus the pot has drainage and a saucer! I planted it today and I'm crossing my fingers that it also grows so I won't feel bad about getting the other kits, too!
Anyway, hello, I missed blogging! I've been too wrapped up in thinking about how it's the last week of my long break from work that I realized I'm spending too much time in wallowing when I am better off doing more fun stuff to make the most out of my vacation!
So yes, I will go back to work on Monday, and this is my last Currently post before things get crazy again!

Sophie Kinsella's My Not So Perfect Life on Nova, my Kindle Paperwhite that I love so much! It's so much more fun to read at night now without needing a book light or use my phone's flashlight under the covers!

THINKING
J and I watched A Quiet Place and I have so many unanswered questions, but it was really a great movie that I don't want to see again because I got too stressed, heh.
FEELING
Anxious. I've been feeling divided these past few weeks, and time to decide is running out.
LOVING
My friends!
My barkada from high school had a mini get together yesterday to celebrate Dianne's and Jer's going home. It's Jer's wedding next week and I deeply regret not being able to go because it's the week I'm going back to work and there's also a huge event happening that day. :(
WISHING
I wish there's a way of knowing for certain what the outcomes of some decisions will be so I can choose better. Oh well.

Interrupting regular Currently postings yet again because I just came back from a short trip to Baguio and I'd really like to rest before writing about it for posterity.
My boyfriend J and I went there with his officemates and it was a fun 2 days-3 nights stay. I feel like it was so short yet we were able to squeeze in many things - we were even able to catch a screening of Pacific Rim: Uprising! My favorite parts of the trip are gawking at flowers, eating [so much] good food (O-Cha and the Korean Palace buffet are the highlights!), our super comfortable rides to and from Baguio onboard the Joy Bus Executive Coaches, and, of course, dropping by Mt. Cloud Bookshop. Speaking of which, we were also there exactly two years ago!
More stories tomorrow. ♥
Interrupting regular Currently postings because
My birthday won't actually be until Friday, April 6, but Cuba Libre in Serendra is hosting a party for me and I AM SO EXCITED!!
I don't know why I'm oddly chipper about this one, when I've always dreaded turning old.
I guess I'm done with 31.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I'll save my cheesy post for my birthday itself. Right now I have a party to prepare for and people to see. Oh man I'm so excited to see people again after being cooped up in bed rest for six weeks!

It has been five weeks since my operation and I am healing much better. My wounds still hurt if I stay standing on my feet for too long or walk far distances, but generally I can say I am on my way to complete recovery. If there's anything this ordeal has taught me, it is patience, especially on times I want nothing more than for my body to hurry up and heal.
This past week has been productive because aside from the John Legend concert, I also got to do other things I've been wanting to do, like learn how to crochet.
... And I failed. Spectacularly.
I have seriously never felt dumber in my life than when I was trying (and failing) to imitate what Miss Monina of All About Crochet was teaching us during the Workshops part of the Women's Summit held in ManilaMed (the hospital where I had my operation).
The Summit was organized by my doctor (and my boyfriend's aunt), Dr. Luisa Mangubat, and it was a lot of fun because I learned a lot from the speakers and teachers of the Workshop proper. Still, my attempts to learn how to crochet was terribly executed because my brain seemingly didn't want to cooperate with my hands.
![]() |
My boyfriend's Mom, Tita Judy, went with me |
![]() |
My sister also came for the Workshops |
I refuse to give up, though. I even got more yarn and I intend to use them when I'm more adept at it. At least I have my double-ended crochet needle and yarns now so I can watch tutorials online and try it again and again and again.
Wish me luck!

LISTENING TO
The Music of Haruki Murakami. J took me to the Listen to Haruki Murakami jazz concert last Friday at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater.
I didn't think I would enjoy a jazz concert that much but it was so beautiful and intense and delicate and creative and inspiring.
The hardest part of attending a concert after being operated on is not being able to clap because the movement hurts my wounds.
SMELLING
Lavender.
Just kidding.
J surprised me with a lavender plant last Saturday and I potted the seeds today.
My Mother and Grandma didn't pass on their green thumbs to me but the "100% Natural Seeds Guaranteed to Grow" blurb gives me hope that I will be able to grow these.
Wish us luck!

The new Althea Korea Bare Essentials Fixer Cream.
The new Althea Korea Bare Essentials line hopes to strip down your skincare needs and go back to basics: a 3-step routine instead of the more complicated 10 to 15-step Korean skincare routine we have become more familiar with. I started this new skincare routine today and will let you know how it fares and how my skin reacts to it in the coming weeks!
THINKING
Should I have more cake?
Seeing double with Coraline on the screen and my NECA Coraline bendable doll.
And yes, I had cake!
Guiltless desserts c/o Tita Judy and her new creation: a keto lemon cake.
FEELING
Anxious because the days are passing quickly and my vacation is almost over.
Excited for my birthday.
Apprehensive for my birthday because, in the words of my friend Anne, "it's all going downhill from here."
Sad and worried for my Grandpa who has been in the hospital for two weeks now.
Happy for and proud of my cousins who are graduating today.
I'm a small girl with too many emotions inside me that it's a wonder I haven't spontaneously combusted.
LOVING
Sleepy Hugo.
WANTING
To meet more friends in the doll collecting community. I went to my second doll meet-up last Sunday and it was my first time to meet most of them.
It's always nice to meet more friends with similar interests.
NEEDING
To think of themes for my mini pre-birthday celebration happening next week. I wasn't supposed to have a theme but Ruth asked me so now I am thinking of possible themes to choose from.
WISHING
For a collection of precious and priceless Barbies.
One of the highlights of my week was being invited by Richprime Global Inc. to come visit their office. I saw the huge collection of their CEO Myrna Yao and my jaw almost dropped. I will blog more about this visit on my next post and I hope you can check that out.
Until then! Thank you for reading. ♡

I was supposed to go somewhere very exciting today. I was actually dressed and almost prepared to leave, until my wounds started hurting. I didn't want to force it and deal with harsher consequences after, so I just decided to cancel my plans and go another day.
I will just stay home and sulk, but at least I get to sulk with Coraline.
This is a NECA Coraline bendy doll with her yellow raincoat, denim jeans, and yellow rain boots.
She looks exactly like Coraline from the movie, and I love her bendy and pose-able body although my favorite feature of hers is her blue hair. She also comes with a stand.
I hope I can make an orange sweater for her when I learn how to knit.
My boyfriend got her from Collector's Toy Box. I'm her Other Mother now. ;)
