A couple of years ago I showed you my humble journal collection. I've added several more since then, along with other artsy stuff like stamps, cute post-it notes, washi tapes, and so forth. I know it's kinda an expensive hobby but what can I do? I just can't stop. Me going to craft stores is like letting a kid loose inside a candy shop. Especially with the ease and convenience provided by online shops? Oh man, no wonder I can't save enough money. But enough talk about boring stuff, let's just go look at pretty little things, shall we?

One thing I've taken a great liking to lately is The Little Prince. I've loved the book ever since I read it when I was in high school, but it is only now that I showed more interest in it. (And yeah, I am such a sucker geek who loves collecting stuff connected to my pop culture favorites.) It all started with my Le Petit Prince Moleskine Planner...

Since then, I've been on the look-out for The Little Prince merchandise. And I was lucky because I found quite a lot! Here are some of my favorite recent acquisitions:

"The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.", and whenever I look at them, they just make me happy and remind me of the wonderful lessons the book taught me. Antoine de Saint-Exupery said we must never forget we were all children once, and I must say that these pretty little things bring out the little girl in me; always curious and amazed.

I saw accessories inspired by the book from local online shops, and I hope I can get my paws on them before someone else does! I also check this website almost every day for official merchandise and I really, really, really want to own at least a piece but considering the shipping and possible customs fee they're all very expensive *sad face*.

I should show you my Aliens from Pizza Planet collection next, and maybe after that, my stamps?

I know it's not necessarily required, but I just realized that aside from a family photo, I haven't posted  photos of myself ever since the new year began! Let me oblige you (ha ha) just in case you've already forgotten what I look like LOL.

Last week I went to Bench FIX in TriNoma to have my hair cut. My stylist took one look at my overgrown pixie cut and went, "Someone else did your hair last time. I'm going to cut it short, this is too thick." Oooh catty. So I just sat there and let him do his job because I've loved everything he has ever done with my hair and I know he knows how I like my hair done.

And I was okay with it. Until I got home and took a long, hard look at myself in the mirror that night. My hair was cut too short and I looked like a boy! I mean, I just wanted to look like Anne Hathaway, but I looked like Peter Pan!!!

A little side-story. I saw this in my Facebook feed and my heart just exploded with love and rainbows and awesomeness!

Forgive me guys. It's just so cute how the quality of the photo lets you know they took it themselves with a mobile phone, just like normal people. I love it!

Moving on... Because I was so insecure of this whole hair thing and I knew I couldn't pressure it to grow a teeny bit longer overnight, I made sure I looked and dressed just a tad more girly this week. I always wear lipstick but this week, I made sure to apply a little blush, too. And whereas I used to wear just my simple silver hoop earrings day in and day out, I took out my fancier earrings from storage and alternated wearing them instead.

Also, during days I didn't wear dresses, I accessorized a wee bit more than usual.

Thankfully my hair already grew a little that (I think) I don't look like a boy that much anymore, but moving forward I guess I will continue dressing this way. That's the thing I love about fashion and dressing up, you can always change things up. ;)

Wow. I think that was the longest time I went without writing a new entry. On purpose. I still visit this space every day but I don't know, I haven't had the heart to publish something new. To those who still visit this blog even when there are no new updates, thank you!

Ever get those days when you feel like you've lost the will or energy to live? I have. But then I remember all the books in my bookshelf that I haven't read yet and quickly snap out of it.

Only half-kidding about that bit y'all. I know I still have a lot to live for, but sometimes everything just feels so tiring and I can't keep up with all the changes that have been happening.

Okay, this is not meant to be depressing. The other day, on my way home, I realized that I don't get birthday blues (I've always maintained that I get birthday pinks - birthdays make me happy); I get January blues. I know the beginning of the year is always a cause for celebration, of renewed hope, of clean slates. But after all the noise and merry-making, all I'm left with are anxious panicky feelings and nervous jitters that another year will pass and everything and everyone around me will change and I will remain the same: the girl who's contently floating through life, who doesn't know what she wants, and how would she get what she wants if she doesn't know what it is?

I have some friends who are unhappy with their jobs and are planning to move to another career or another field, and when they asked me what my plans are, the only definite answer I can give was that I'm happy with where I am right now and I have no plans of changing things up anytime soon. What, I just took the leap, remember? Should I feel guilty that I'm happy with where I am? Am I doing myself a disservice if I say I am content with the way things are going? Don't fix what ain't broken, I've always said.

Alternatively titled: Why and how I got a new phone.

I've always wanted a Kindle. I've had it in my annual Christmas wishlist for a couple of years now but I haven't gotten around to getting one. For the meantime, I am enjoying the Kindle app for Android but barely; because I have more than a hundred eBooks saved in my Netphone, I always experience lags and force closing whenever I try to use it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I finally got enough money last weekend (it's a struggle for me to save up, you see), my initial reaction was, "yay I can finally get a Kindle!" but then... I realized I also need a camera. It would be nice to see clearer photos in my blog again, yes? And thus began one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make in my life. 「(°ヘ°)

LOL. Kidding.

It was a choice between a Kindle and a nice point-and-shoot camera, and I even consulted my friends to help me decide. Finally, I arrived at a decision. I will get a Kindle. (￣︶￣)

There's only one little teeny-tiny glitch. There are no stocks of the Kindle Paperwhite in all the local online shops I checked, and the earliest they can get one for me is late January. I could opt to order from Amazon directly and get to save more than a thousand bucks but I would also have to wait for two to three weeks for it to arrive. So what did I do? 

I got a new phone.

The thing is, I wasn't planning on getting a new phone. But I saw some of my highschool barkada last Saturday night, and one of them, Ric, has a new phone - a Cherry Mobile Flame - and it looks so cool but a little too big for me. He told me it has a smaller brother that has just been released, the Cherry Mobile Flare, and so I spent all Sunday morning checking out reviews online. (◎_◎;)

I read a lot of posts saying this phone is almost always out of stock and they had to line up for four hours just to get their own! Four hours! I don't want to line up for a phone for four hours! Ric recommended I check Lazada, and bingo, "In Stock" flashed brightly on the screen. It would only be a matter of clicking a few buttons before I could hold my own Flare! ⊙﹏⊙

I played it cool though and didn't order yet because I still wanted to think. At around 12 noon, it said "Limited Stocks" and I panicked slightly because we were already due to leave to go to my aunt's house in Malinta. I finally got to process my order when we got there. Good thing I did, for when I checked again at around 4 PM it already said "Out of Stock".  (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

What I loved about the transaction is that they offer Cash on Delivery, so I didn't have to worry about lining up at the bank to deposit my payment or to send my credit card details somewhere. Also, I was given P200 worth of shopping credits upon registration! Wheee! ＼(^▽^＠)ノ

Timescales for delivery is five business days within Metro Manila. Because of the holidays, the first business day was January 2. I did the transaction on December 30, and the past three days before I received it yesterday was filled with such agonizing excitement! I wish I have a photo of how sweet my smile was yesterday when the delivery guy arrived at our office. ｡◕‿◕｡

I promise to write a full review of this gadget soon, but for the meantime check the specifications and features here. Would you believe I got it for only P3,999? Well, P3,799 because of the voucher, but still! That's an awesome price for a brand new phone with awesome specs! (⌒▽⌒)☆

After charging it initially for four hours last night, I was able to use it for 20 hours and 6 minutes before the battery juice got drained completely. That's after moderate to heavy use, since I loaded it with apps today. I am finally able to play games and use photo editing apps that are too heavy for my HTC ChaCha and Netphone that both run on Android Froyo! It's so zippy, thus the name. Or maybe I can call it Bruce Wayne, what do you think? (゜▽゜;)

I super love my new phone. Now my Kindle app doesn't lag any more! Heee I guess it pays to be impatient and impulsive. Sometimes. (◕‿◕✿)

Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season. It's back to the daily grind for most of us (I went back to work this morning), but there are some who are still enjoying the last days of rest before going back to work or to school.

Anyway, it's almost midnight here but my mind's still a-buzzing so let me talk about something I enjoy nerdy-ing about: planners. I just love writing my schedule and to do-lists down. Do you, too?

For this year, I got a pocket-sized Le Petit Prince Moleskine 2013 Weekly Planner. The Little Prince is one of my favorite books so I get a little thrill every time I reach for it and turn the pages. :)

Aside from those, the front pages also include flight durations, dialing codes and plate codes, conversion tables and international sizes, and one page as a ruler.

I looove my 2013 planner and I can't wait to fill it with my schedule, goals, and new memories!
