Expectation: Wait until I've finished reading all the books in my unread pile before purchasing new ones.

Reality: Troop to Bayanihan Center (on a Saturday with hellish traffic due to ASEAN, no less) for Komikon 2017 to buy new comic books.

Goodbye, chilly mornings and early sunsets. Hello, sunshine and sundresses!

Summer is here, and global clothing brand Penshoppe launched its Spring/ Summer 2016 collection with a splash (as it rightfully should because, hello, new endorser!)

One of the perks I enjoy in my current job is being privy to juicy information before they even reach the public domain. In the days leading up to the exclusive launch party held at The Palace Pool Club, I made sure I didn't talk about the event that much lest I reveal who the new endorser to join the ranks of Mario Maurer, Zac Efron, Sean O'Pry, Sandara Park, and Kendall Jenner is!

And so it was revealed that new face to belong to Team Penshoppe is Male Model of the Year 2015 Lucky Blue Smith!

Currently one of the hottest and most-followed male models in the industry today, Lucky Blue Smith is the epitome of cool. His iconic platinum blonde hair, chiseled features, and icy baby blues make it no wonder that he has won the hearts of many fans all around the globe. I hope Penshoppe brings him here also!

A fashion show was held at the exclusive launch party, and it was like a catalogue of clothes I want in my closet came to life and paraded in front of me.

I mean:

See??

It was awesome because I was able to get most of what I wanted like the pink and blue kimono that Jodilly Pendre was wearing, the Unicorn pullover I wore at Komiket, the graphic tank top I wore at SuperSale Bazaar that Reese Lansangan complimented me on, the jewel-toned top I wore a couple of weeks ago, my hibernating Panda shirt, and a black mesh backpack I've been lugging around these past couple of days!

Fun times. I am so ready for summer!

PS: By the way. Penshoppe also released a Batman v Superman collection which I am going gaga over! AAAAAH Y U WANNA TAKE ALL MY MONEY??!

I think I wasn't born to be an entrepreneur. Not for lack of trying, though. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with being an ENFP, but since grade school I have tried to jump-start several entrepreneurial endeavors only to get sick of them and stop once they gain momentum. I used to sell stationery sets, paper dolls, accessories, and a lot of other thingamajigs and my classmates were willing to support. Or they just really love stationery. I also used to have an online shop where I sold clothes, bags, and accessories. I earned thrice the money I put out in just two weeks but I closed up shop in less than two months. One thing I know for sure: I love creating things and getting them out to people who might appreciate them.

This weekend I attended two shopping events and marketed my Krissyfied Makes watercolor postcards. ♥

First stop: Komiket in Elements, Centris

I attended Easter Komiket last year so I pretty much have an idea of what would happen already, but I didn't anticipate the number of attendees! A lot of people who love comic books and art came and it was awesome!

I manned the #romanceclass table with my author friends where we sold books

... and my watercolor postcards.

I took a break from manning the booth when my rockstar arrived.

We went around all the tables and he ended up spending more than I did. Hee.

We left before Komiket officially closed because he needed to meet a client. I kinda regret missing Manix's talk but oh well, I guess I will just have to wait for Summer Komiket on April 16.

Second stop: SuperSale Bazaar Summer Sale 2016 in World Trade Center Tent

Alex and her friends Chris, Nio, John, and Jona have been there manning our adjacent booths since Friday but since I had work and yesterday's Komiket I only got to go today.

What a tiring but fun weekend of talking to people and trying to market my wares, haha. To everyone who would like to practice selling, I have two pieces of advice: be excited about what you're offering and don't forget to smile! Thank you sooo much to everyone who dropped by and bought my postcards! I still have stocks with me so in case you're interested, please visit my shop in Shopee to purchase!

There was a time in a not-so-distant past when I was wondering where else I could market my postcards aside from my online shop in Shopee. When the chance to set up shop at the SuperSale Bazaar came, I immediately snapped it up! So yes, you can get my postcards at the SuperSale Bazaar Summer Sale happening in World Trade Center from tomorrow until Sunday. （*’∀’人）♥

For those who are planning to stay within the northern part of Manila and maybe drop by Komiket on Saturday though, I am so happy and excited to tell you that my postcards [and I] will be there also, together with my author friends who will sell their books!

Whether you're single or coupled up, looking for fantastical elements or would rather stick to what's realistic, a fan of YA or NA (or you can even be both, really), the #romanceclass booth has everything you're looking for, so I hope you can drop by and share the feels!

Because I'm me, I haven't gotten around to having print copies of my stories made yet, but I can offer my watercolor postscards! [And you can always buy my stories online via Buqo!]

They cost P50 each but you can also buy a set of five for only P200. These are my favoritest among my watercolor paintings so it thrills me when people say they like them. I hope you do, too!

It's so easy to spot our table! Just enter Elements in Centris, follow the feels, and go straight to Table E59 where we will be ready to attend to you! See floor layout below.

Or, you know, just spot my purple hair in the crowd.

More than anything else, Komiket is a great avenue for local artists, writers, and dreamers to showcase their art. We hope you can come and support us! I'll be there the whole day and I'm looking forward to seeing you! ♥

Today my emotions ranged from being spontaneously happy to sad to WTF? to excited to furious to elated to every little feeling in between - not necessarily in that order. Unlike Ron Weasley, I do not have the emotional range of a mere teaspoon. It was a wild ride, and it's only Monday.

CURRENTLY VOL. 15

READING
Kikomachine Komix Blg. 11: Mga Kirot ng Kapalaran by Manix Abrera that I got last Easter Komiket. I am taking my sweet time, because after this I would have to wait for another year or so again before a new book comes out. I have all volumes of this comic book series and I'm very happy with how the characters and Manix's style have developed over the years.

WRITING
Act One of my Spark NA novella. For the uninitiated, Spark Books is an imprint of Anvil. They sponsored a class under Mina Esguerra where everyone who can finish a contemporary New Adult novella by June 6 will be eligible for a possible book deal. The requirements are sent via email. For those who were able to go, we had our first face-to-face class last Saturday in National Bookstore Cubao. Images of having a book under my name out there consumed my brain that I was so inspired to work on my story!

Part of my outline, if you can see it after I intentionally made my penmanship incomprehensible blurred the image

I just hope I really get to finish it.

LISTENING TO
Mostly songs by Yellowcard.

WEARING
My heart on my sleeve.

THINKING
Of how I shouldn't let my heart override my thoughts and my emotions dictate my actions.

FEELING
All sorts of emotions, as stated above.

LOVING
That we now have new interns in the office, because I like it when there are new people around; That our event slated for this Friday has been moved to a later date, giving us more time to prepare for it; That I have friends I can talk to anytime I feel like I'm going crazy.

WANTING
Wednesday to come around soon because I'm excited to shop at the first ever SM Woman Ladies' Night!

For 6PM to 9PM only, EVERYTHING from SM Woman and GTW by SM will be available for 50% off! This is happening for four Wednesdays at different SM Malls, and their first stop is in SM Makati on April 15. I've been looking to update my wardrobe with more age-appropriate clothing so this couldn't have come at a better time! I hope to see you there! (I also have an Instagram contest where one of my followers can get P3,000 worth of SM Woman GCs! Please check the hashtag #GTWByKrissyfied to see how you can join!)

NEEDING
Peace of mind, wisdom, and clarity.

WISHING
To be more careful of what I wish for. For the past few weeks I have been feeling concerned because I was feeling nothing. Empty. Hollow. Nada. I wanted to feel. And now, this. A barrage of emotions I can't keep track of.

Have a pleasant week ahead, everyone! Take care of your hearts. ♥

Heads up: the new L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Electric Lip Collection is not for the faint of heart.

Leave your nude, MLBB, and vampy lipsticks at home in the meantime because this summer, BOLD is in.

Orange Power, Glamour Fuchsia, Lincoln Rose, Touch of Amaranth, Pop Up Pink

These lipsticks are so pigmented that two swipes yield this much color Glamour Fuchsia, Lincoln Rose, Orange Power, Pop Up Pink, Touch of Amaranth

I will be posting individual swatches of the lipsticks on me but first, I'd like to talk about the formula. I love L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks because even though L'Oreal is a drugstore brand, its lipsticks never felt cheap. I own and have reviewed several L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks already (Fairy Touch and Barely Moka are two of my favorites) and I love them because they are non-drying, the colors complement my skin tone, and they feel luxurious to the lips. As for the shades in the Color Riche Electric collection, I'd have to say I got a bit scared when I first saw them in person. The press release wasn't lying when it described the shades as electrifying! My lips can also get a bit dry sometimes so I was worried that the matte shades will look horrible on me. Buuut as the swatches below will prove, I didn't have anything to worry about. The three matte lipsticks (Glamour Fuchsia, Lincoln Rose, Orange Power) are true mattes that are flat but never boring, while the satiny lipsticks (Pop Up Pink, Touch of Amaranth) are more wet and creamy. They are very easy to apply, matte lipsticks included, and do not tug on the lips. The matte lipsticks also tended to stay on a bit longer than the other two.

I tried to take individual photos of the lipsticks but my iPhone couldn't seem to capture the raspberry redness of Lincoln Rose (it looks too orange in the photos) nor the exquisite milky-pink beauty of Pop Up Pink so I decided to forego them and just post my lip swatches. Aside from the L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Electric lipsticks, I wasn't wearing anything else on my face in the photos below so you can see how the lipsticks instantly brightened up my face. But then again, with shades as bold as these, you wouldn't really need to pile on too much. A clean canvas, a Color Riche Electric lipstick, and a simple cat eye and the glam factor would already skyrocket!

Glamour Fuchsia

Won't you look at that and tell me how gorgeous the color is! This was the color I wore on my birthday. Doesn't it look like the kind of lipstick Barbie would wear? This is my second favorite from the bunch.

Lincoln Rose

I was reminded of raspberries and candy apples when I was testing this out. I had a hard time choosing, but this is my favorite because I have a lot of red lipsticks but I don't have anything like this in my collection. I wore this at the Easter Komiket.

Orange Power

I already have an orange lipstick but it was my first time to try a matte orange lipstick. It's such a unique and fun color that I see myself wearing with my teal eyeliner.

Pop Up Pink

It's a creamy milky pink that may look mild and sweet in this photo but looks more neon in person. This reminded me of OFRA 205 but I liked the formula of this one better. It also looked like a prettier version of MAC Pink Nouveau (that no matter what I did, I couldn't get to work for me so I just gave it away to Kira).

Touch of Amaranth

This one reminded me of my favorite MAC Girl About Town. Aside from Glamour Fuchsia, this is another lipstick shade I could imagine Barbie wearing.

You know how some makeup products can "Insta-boost" your mood? These shades are so vibrant they could easily chase all your woes away! When I have any of these shades on, I feel like I want to bust my heels out and take over the world!

These colors last on me for at least five hours. Aside from the highly-pigmented and creamy formula and the outlandishness of these shades, my favorite thing about these Color Riche Electric lipsticks are the fact that they don't settle on my lip lines. Any bold color would look ridiculous if that happens, but you're safe with L'Oreal Paris.

I also liked its elegant rose gold (for the matte shades) and gold (for the satin shades) packaging that doesn't feel flimsy at all. It's also classy enough that you wouldn't feel embarrassed to whip it out for a quick touch-up anywhere you are.

In conclusion, L'Oreal Color Riche Electric lipsticks are lip colors that are ultra-bold, ultra-trendy, yet easily wearable and can instantly brighten up any look. If you're feeling down, all you need is a swipe or two of any of these colors and I SWEAR you will instantly feel better. If you feel intimidated, DON'T! After all, it's just lipstick. ^_~

Here's a side-by-side comparison of all five shades

I am turning a year older tomorrow, and I spent my last day as a 28-year-old in today's Komiket held in Elements at Centris.

My main reason for going was to get my hands on the newest installment of Manix Abrera's Kikomachine Komix so I wouldn't have to hound my favorite bookstores if they already have a copy, and to also hopefully have it signed by him.

I also came to support Vlad. He was supposed to just go and check out the event, but he also decided to sell his own comics, Shards, and the two-part origin stories of the three main characters.

I finished reading all the origin stories already as well as the first volume of Shards, and I liked it! Very promising and I'm excited to read the rest! Among the three, my favorite character is the Wolf because he's so mysterious. I wondered earlier whether I could coax Vlad into giving me clues as to what would happen next, but I figured it's better to find out myself when the next volumes are already available. (^～^)

Also saw some friends today!

My dear friend Michelle kept me company while waiting for my turn for Manix's autograph and also took our photo! So nice to see her again after quite a while. To think we used to go to and from work together every day as I used to live in an apartment beside their house!

Fellow April baby Mimai! Craft birthdate soon, please!

My former officemate Thysz!

And, I was about to go home, another photo with Manix!

I got home before it got dark. Enough time to buy my favorite milk tea and relax at home with my new comic books.

My Komiket haul: Kikomachine Komix Blg. 11: Mga Kirot ng Kapalaran! by Manix Abrera, Shards and the two-parts each origin stories of the Wolf, the Monkey, and the Panda by Vee Jocson, and Komiks Galing sa Aking Kaluluwa by Andoyman

Exactly a year ago today, I had the #LegenwaitforitdaryKrissyParty. In contrast, today was pretty low-key and relaxed but still with things I love and people I like the company of. Not such a shabby way to say goodbye to 28, yes?
