Feeling and looking fabulous with FAB Salon

28 August 2011

What immediately comes to mind when you hear the word "boot camp"? Does it remind you of sweat, body pains, and rigorous activities? That's what I thought too, but when I received an invite from Miss Jenny Yrasuegui with the word "Beauty" attached to "Boot Camp", ooooh I was sold!

Last Thursday after work, I headed straight to Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila to participate in FAB Salon's Bloggers Beauty Boot Camp, and oh boy, it was hands down the best pampering and prettifying experience I have had the pleasure to go to ♥

Words alone can't fully describe the experience, so let me share it with you through photos and captions! :)

FAB Salon is a professional, full-service salon for both men and women. The salon was conceptualized to cater to a market that does not want to compromise quality in exchange for affordability, comfort for functionality, and expertise for accessibility.

Would you believe that as posh as FAB Salon looks, they charge P300 only for haircuts of any length?
After being welcomed by Miss Jenny and FAB Salon's team, we were given this map of all the services we can avail. My heart skipped as the words "Manicure", "Haircut", "Massage" and "Threading" jumped at me :D
Before anything else, here's a "before" photo of excited me :D
I went to the manicure station first.
A manicure costs P200 while change polish costs P150.
Meet Lisa, the nail technician..
My nails in Orly Haute Red. This is my first time I tried this shade of red, and I loved it!
Liz of Project Vanity having her eyebrows threaded
I also had mine threaded by Bert. Trivia: it's my first time to have it done :D
It's not too painful, just a slight tinge every now and then.
Eyebrow threading/ reshaping costs P200.
I wasn't planning on having anything done any more because I was already satisfied with the two services I availed, but  FAB Salon's Creative Director Lourd Ramos recommended I have a haircut too. I was a bit hesitant at first because I just recently had a hair cut - the day of the Philippine Fashion Ball, to be exact - but at the same time I really wanted to try it out. So, you can already guess what happened next.

First, I had a very relaxing shampoo and scalp message by Ernie.
Why can't I shampoo my hair the same way he did it? LOL.
Shampoo and blowdry ranges from P200 to P350 depending on the length.
Then  it's straight to the hair stylist's chair for me!
Hmmm, I just realized I am getting more and more adventurous with my hair.
What next, a mohawk? :D
The ever-so-brilliant hair stylist John, with Jello who blowdried my hair.
My "After" photo :)
I was spoiled even more with a back massage by Charles.
Sigh. The joys of being pampered.
FAB Salon is literally a pampering- and prettifying-haven!
The staff of FAB Salon attended 2-months of training in hairstyling at the TESDA-registered BSC Technological Institute prior to the opening of the Salon. They also honed their technical skills at the training offices of the brands that FAB Salon carries, such as Wella, Schwarzkopf, L’Oreal, Matrix, Revlon and Davines. Their knowledge is then distilled and integrated by famed stylist Lourd Ramos. In addition, the team benefited from the personality training by image consultant and former beauty queen, Patty Betita, who taught them etiquette, manners and professionalism.
We were also treated to yummy red velvet cupcakes from Cupcakes by Sonja ♥
Alex of Reluctant Stylista with her new haircut. I love it!
Kira of Elegantly Wasted enjoying foot spa.
Foot spa with pedicure costs P500.

I wasn't able to take more photos, but EarthPhoebe, Sophie, and Jeng were also there. Truth be told, it felt so surreal for me to spend the afternoon being pampered with Manila's top beauty bloggers, considering I only just used to read their blogs before. Trivia: I learned how to apply makeup by reading their tutorials. It really made my visit to the Salon even more special. :)

Thank you so much for inviting me! The location is quite far from my apartment, but I am willing to go back especially as I have already experienced being attended by the very accommodating and competent staff, as well as the over-all pampered and prettified experience it gave me. I have actually recommended the Salon to my friends, and my officemate Arnz will go there with her daughters tomorrow :) As for me, well, I'm going to have my hair colored again next month and it'll be another trip to FAB Salon and fabulousness ;)

FAB Salon is located at the 4th level of Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila. Another branch will open soon in Valero St., Salcedo Village, Makati.
