Bits and Pieces: Philippine Fashion Ball

18 August 2011

The Philippine Fashion Ball is, hands down, the most unforgettable night of my 2011 yet. It is the glitziest and most glam event I have ever attended, and I will never forget how I felt that night ♥

Here are the things and people who made the night extra-extra-extra-special for me:

THE GOWN
My gown was made especially for me by my friend Kenneth's cousin.
I just showed them a photo of a gown from Elie Saab's F/W 2011 collection and here's what he came up with.
It's perfect for the look I was aiming for that night.
THE ACCESSORIES
Black swarovski and diamante accessories from egg, YRYS, and SM Accessories.
THE SHOES
Black peeptoe heels from So Fab
THE SCENT
Aura by Swarovski is a magical rose-colored fusion of amber, benzoin and white musk housed in an elegant bottle with a crystal on top.
A spritz of this perfume is a bit of luxe indulgence, and I loved how I instantly felt like a million bucks, yet still very feminine.
Thank you Miss Jenny Yrasuegui!
THE BATH AND BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Assorted makeup, tools, and hygiene essentials cluttered our hotel room's vanity table.
THE CLUTCH
My evening clutch housed my Maybelline pressed powder, MAC oil blotting sheets, James Cooper lipstick and lipgloss, and HTC ChaCha.
THE LOOK
I did my own makeup and tried on smokey eyes and nude lips for the first time.
THE BLOG-FRIENDS
With beautiful ladies Aisa, Aie, and sisters Vernice and Vern
THE FABULOUS GUY FRIENDS
Karlo, Ed, JV, Myk and Khel
The evening wouldn't have been complete without them.
I love them like I love shoes and Skittles, and that is a LOT!
THE FABULOUS GIRL FRIEND
My college batch's Lady Godiva, Dewi is a very stylish lady.
I love her and her fashion sense!
THE SOUL SISTER
My Fashion Compass girl Ana.
I love her like I love clothes and pretty thingamajigs, and that is also a LOT!
THE MEMORY-KEEPER
My good friend/ officemate Frank, whose skills and good eye in photography made sure I have more than enough photos from that night, and who also captured this photo for posterity:
Me giggling like a school-girl because of:
THE CRUSH
David Chua
He kissed me that night. On the cheeks. But still. He kissed me.
I am smitten ♥
THE TWIRL
Never have I felt more like a princess than last Monday at the Rigodon Ballroom of Manila Peninsula Hotel.
Thank you Ed for inviting me to this once-in-a-lifetime chance to be in the same room with the movers and shakers of the Philippine fashion scene, see models and celebrities decked in couture swarming and sashaying around, party 'til 2AM with music from the 90s blasting from the speakers, and just revel in the moment. This is an evening I will treasure forever. ♥

Fashionably epic, the Philippine Fashion Ball was!

Special thanks to Ana Gonzales and Frank Ruaya for some of the photos. Next up: Photos with models and celebrities who graced the event.
