I am so glad we said herro!

10 July 2011

September 2008. I was new in the blogosphere (in Blogspot, at least) and I barely knew anyone. I got bored after a while so I went back to my Multiply Journal.

August 2009. I went back to Blogspot after a long hiatus. I kept to my own world and even though I was already following a few beauty blogs back then, I still treated my own blog as a personal online diary. While blog-surfing, I thought that it would be great if I can also meet other people I can consider my blog-friends, so I started leaving short comments on other people's blogs.

October 2009. I started following Kym on her now defunct blog beecreative.ca, and after I posted a comment on one of her posts back then, she returned the visit and commented on this post. It also led the way for me and Jessica to meet, who first commented on this post.

A hundred thousand comments on one another's blogs (even when they changed URLs,) after, we became really close. ♥ Kym and Jessica are two of the best friends I met through blogging, and they were ones that I bugged (a lot, sorry -___-) when my heart got broken last year.

September 2010. Kym and Winmark got engaged! I was so touched that even before she announced it in her blog, she told the news to me already :)

October 2010. Jess and I met in person for the first time :)

June 2011. Kym and Winmark got married!!! Such a beautiful wedding that I wish I could have been able to attend. See the photos here.

July 2011. Kym and I met in person for the first time :)

Jess and I were also invited to Kym and Winmark's post-wedding reception that was held at the Century Park Seafood Restaurant in Century Park Hotel last July 2. It was a lavish affair filled with love, good food, and fun people. I actually teared up at least thrice: during the prayer led by Kym's dad, during the father of the bride's speech, and when they showed the slideshow of Kym and Winmark's photos.

Chandeliers ♥
Jess and me
Nope, we didn't plan to go with coordinated outfits ;D
We were served more than 10 dishes.
I was so full I got seriously scared I would burst out my dress!

Pretty ladies at the photobooth :D
Me with the lovely couple ♥
Thank you for inviting us, Kym and Winmark!
Big thanks to the event hosts Filbert and Shanda, I was able to sneak a video presentation we made for Kym, very much like the surprise video they made for me on my birthday :) Too bad I was seated a bit far from the stage so I wasn't able to take a video of her reaction. but she loved it! :)

The newlyweds were busy with other guests at the reception so we weren't able to really bond, so we made plans to have a "proper" date the next day. Our stop: TriNoma - where they were FINALLY able to taste all my favorite foods I've been blogging about!

The three of us, much more laidback and relaxed this time :)
Lovely, lovely couple.
I've never seen a more well-matched pair!
Food coma followed in the forms of:

Dinner at Bigoli...
and dessert at Parvati ♥
So full!
But it didn't stop us from doing jump shots because Kym just LOVES them haha!
Here we are, at the 10th take ;p
All good things must come to an end though... Last Friday, Kym and Winmark went back to Canada - but not before I saw them again for the last time! Well, at least not for a couple of years. Or a year. Crossing my fingers for Bali, Indonesia!

I prepared a mini box filled with goodies and little treats for her ♥
Awwww.
Dear Kym,

It was awesome to have finally met you in person! You are every bit as beautiful and spunky and energetic as the Kym that I read in your posts. It makes me sad that I won't see you again for a long time, but I am comforted by the knowledge that we'll always have Facebook, Twitter, our blogs, and WhatsApp. I love you and I am thankful that we met and became friends! ♥ Congratulations, best wishes, and, I am saying it here again, I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!

PS: I can't wait to say "herro!" to your and Winmark's future babies!!!

Sincerely,

PS to my readers: Kym also makes unique and pretty awesome shirts! Visit her shop here.

LUCKIEST NIGHT EVER!!!

07 July 2011

I know I said I might not be able to post anything until next week, but this news is just too good to pass up! Did you feel my excitement reverberating from my monitor to yours? No? Well just imagine my heart jumping wildly, for this is one of my luckiest nights EVER!!!

I attended the Smart X HTC's event held at Opus in Resorts World to launch the newest HTC smartphones. It was a very glamorous event well-attended by celebrities and bloggers, where good food was served, great performances were heard/ watched, and drinks overflowed. I really enjoyed it! ♥

The best part about being in the venue was the raffle where they gave away HTC phones. I actually wasn't counting on winning anything as I am terribly unlucky when it comes to things like this, but this event proved me wrong...

BECAUSE I WON AN HTC PHONE!!!

You'd be all-smiles too, wouldn't you?
My HTC ChaCha and new Smart SIM
I love the color, it's so chic ♥

I really like the curved design :)

I'm so stoked! BIG THANKS AGAIN, SMART AND HTC!

Big thanks as well to my friends Ana, Ed, and Frank!

In the next few days I will share more details about the event and the latest phones they released. For the moment just let me tinker with my phone first ;)

EDIT: Here are more photos from the event!

Opus was PACKED!
Thank you for the invite, Gerick!

I love shopping. Even more so when I don't spend money.

05 July 2011

I've been busy the past few days (and will be busy until the week ends) so here is a quick filler-post, just so you guys won't forget me ;) Besides, some people said they love reading my haul posts - and since I haven't done one for quite a while now, well, here it is.

FYI, I am practically broke at the moment. I don't know where my most recent paycheck went, but after paying my rent and monthly bills I barely had enough to cover me for the next couple of weeks until my next paycheck comes. Touching my savings account is out of the question, of course.

My wallet felt very light yesterday, but after picking up my Harry Potter tickets (YES!!!) at the SM North EDSA yesterday I still got to buy some pretty little things. How? By using gift cards :)

When Kym and I met in Greenhills last week she gave me a pretty F21 necklace and an SM Department Store gift card. I had a hard time deciding what to spend it on, but then I figured I want/ need a jacket, specifically one in a style I don't have yet. Here's what I got:

Britney Spears for Candie's LE biker jacket
Originally priced P1,199.75 but I got it for only P1,079.77 because of the 10% discount
It comes with a detachable pin with a hot pink velvet bow and gold heart charm ♥
I love that its satin material lets me wear it on both dressy and not-so-dressy events. And yes, have I ever told you I love Britney Spears? I never stopped loving her, even when she went a bit cuckoo. I'm glad to see her revive a bit of her old self, and wish she visits Manila in the near future #BritneyFanForever. Candie's is also fast becoming one of my favorite brands now; I've bought five items of clothing from them in the last three months alone! I really, really love my new jacket. Thank you Kym!

I also received SM Accessories gift cards again, this time from Miss Diane. Here are what I got using one of them worth P1,000:

Leg Love tights by Kate Torralba = P299.75 | Black hoop earrings = P199.75
Black clutch with detachable strap = P549.75 | Paganini hairbrush = P69.75
All from SM Accessories
I wasn't supposed to buy the hairbrush, but the total cost came up to P944.25 only after the 10% discount was applied. Since I was told I could claim a prize if I present a single-receipt purchase worth at least P1,000, I added the brush to my cart, for when I blowdry my hair in the morning.

The prize for presenting receipts worth at least P1,000? MRT Stored Value cards worth P100! I was able to claim two. Real value for money!

I really love everything I bought yesterday! I will wear them to an event I will go to tomorrow, and I'm super excited!

Big YAY for shopping without spending a penny! Big thanks again to Kym and Miss Diane for your wonderful gifts! ♥

Coca-Cola and McDonald's present the new Coca-Cola Can Glasses!

04 July 2011

We interrupt regular programming to make way for an important announcement. Besides, I'm still waiting for photos from Kym and Jessica ♥

Coca-Cola and McDonald's did it again! After the Beijing Olympics glasses in 2008, the colored contour glasses in 2009, and the Coke-FIFA contour glasses in 2010, Coca-Cola and McDonald's have released a new design of limited edition glasses sure to be a hit with everyone. Would you like to see it? Of course you do!

Big, black, and beautiful but heavy box.
The new Coke can glasses come in six different colors: pink, charcoal, green, blue, lime and purple.
Seeing them lined up like this makes me want to go and host a Coca-Cola party ;D
The Coca-Cola can glass is new to consumers in the Asia Pacific region and will be available only at McDonald's in 13 markets - Singapore, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Philippines, Malaysia, Pakistan, Tahiti, Fiji, and New Caledonia.
"Coca-Cola glasses are unique collector's items, and as we celebrate the 125th anniversary of Coca-Cola in 2011 we are excited to offer the Coca-Cola can glass to McDonald's Asia consumers for the first time. We know consumers will enjoy collecting the multiple colors and the fizz of Coca-Cola at McDonald's."
- John Hackett, Customer and Commercial Director of Coca-Cola Pacific Group Marketing
Random fun fact about Krissy #3861: I love giving out trivia and random fun facts, even when unsolicited. My friends and I would talk about something, and then I would remember something I read or heard about what we're talking about (or something connected to it) and I would say it out loud. I wasn't aware of this habit until my friends pointed it out and teased me about it :D For my unsolicited trivia for today:
  • The Coca-Cola can was first used to distribute Coca-Cola to the US Armed Forces overseas in the 1950s, and by 1959 became available to the US consumer.
  • In 1985 Coca-Cola was the first softdrink to be consumed in space in a special Coca-Cola can, aboard Space Shuttle Challenger.
Cool huh? /end of unsolicited trivia.

BIG THANKS to Coca-Cola and Ed for my set of Coke can glasses! For all you guys who would like your own glasses, all you have to do is visit any McDonald's store nationwide and add P25 to any Extra Value Meal. The promo started last Saturday, July 2, so hurry up if you want to collect all colors!

The pink one is my favorite Coke can glass ♥
What's yours?

From San Juan to Makati to Manila.

03 July 2011

I did say yesterday that it was going to be a long day, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Saying it was a rollercoaster of emotions is an understatement.

Aside from the two gatherings I blogged about, my friend from the office Mich also asked if we can visit our friend Poly who got operated on the other day. We made a quick pit-stop at the Makati Medical Center to cheer her up a bit.

Here're what happened yesterday:

Went to Omakase Restaurant in Greenhills to meet with my fashion blogger-friends for Honey's despedida.
I don't eat sushi but I loved my dalandan juice ♥
So fierce.
Kookie, Karl, Raleene, Aie, Honey, Ava, Keigh, Belle, me, Mike
We'll miss you pretty Honey ♥
I'm sad I wasn't able to stay long for more photos with them. At around 3:30PM, Mich and I left for Makati Med. Poly is one of the closest girl friends I've made in HSBC. She only stayed in our team for a couple of months but we really bonded like we have been friends for so long already. The three of us (Mich, Poly and I) make it a point to go out at least once a month to just eat out and watch a movie or shop. Sometimes we do all three heehee. You may remember her in the posts I made when we went to Banapple, and when we watched Love & Other Drugs.

She has become so thin already :(
The plus side? We can now borrow clothes from each other.
She has been complaining for tummy aches for months now. After not finding anything in the colonoscopy, the doctors decided to operate on her after seeing how ill she looked. During the operation, they saw that her intestines have become clamped together. They needed to remove two feet of her intestines in a three-hour operation and then stitch her up  again. She is now recovering but still very weak, and she can't eat yet so she has all these wires connected to her. Just seeing them makes me wince in pain already. What a grueling procedure for someone to go through :( Looking at the photo it's a wonder how she can still find the will to pose and smile, but that's darling Poly to you :)

Being stuck in the hospital bed, Poly can't do much except watch TV and play with her Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Good thing she have friends and family to keep her company :)
The guy in black is Boss Tony, Poly's long-time boyfriend.
A little before 6:00PM, Mich and I had to say goodbye so I can meet Jessica to go to Century Park Hotel in Manila for Kym and Winmark's post-wedding reception. After changing my clothes and putting my makeup on, we met Jess at Jupiter Street. After getting lost a bit, we reached the venue at 7:10PM.

The reception was beautiful, I wish I was at their wedding in Canada because all the photos Tracey took at their wedding were all so lovely! Click here to see the slideshow, I promise you it's more than worth the visit! ;) Kym and Winmark's reception deserves a separate blog entry (I got teary-eyed at least thrice because the happiness in the hall plus the beautiful words at the speeches, not to mention the abundance of food LOL, got a little too overwhelming to take in), but let me share with you guys what I wore:

Very Royal Wedding-y ♥
Feather fascinator - Lucban Hats | Purple satin dress - Candie's | Purse - Tomato
Black glittery peep-toes - Chelsea | Accessories - YRYS, SM Accessories
And a fun photo with the bride, of course:

Kym, Jessica and I hamming it up at the photobooth ♥
PS: I love my eye makeup!
I'm sure Kym's and my mutual blog-friends are so excited for more photos from the reception. I'm sorry guys for making you more jealous, but Jess and I will meet her again tonight for a night-out! We'll have dinner, and most probably visit a KTV, too! Soooo excited for more bonding with them!

Later! ;)

Two different dresses.

02 July 2011

Today is going to be a long day, and let me tell you why.

I will go to two different events that wouldn't have been possible if I didn't sit in front of my computer on that fateful day on September 2008 and create this blog. I have been happy and content in my Multiply journal, but, inspired by the first few beauty blogs I have bookmarked before (because I wanted to learn how to do my own makeup), Krissyfied was born.

Today, two of my closest blog-friends invited me to two different gatherings. Hence, the two dresses.

Black and white chessboard dress - bought online
Purple peacock-print dress - Candie's
I will wear the black and white chessboard dress to a bloggers' lunch/ afternoon snacks-date at the Omakase Restaurant in Greenhills organized by Honey. She will migrate to Kuwait soon and we might not see her for a very long time. I will miss her, and I wish her all the best in life and in luck ♥

Photo taken on the Mary Kay event we attended back in March.
The purple satin peacock-print dress was love at first sight. I have been scouring the malls for weeks for a pretty dress to wear on Kym and Winmark's post-wedding reception tonight at the Century Park Hotel, but when I saw this in Candie's the other day I knew instantly that it is THE dress.

This arrived in the mail back in March.
So you see, we have been planning our meet-up that I blogged about on my previous post for months.
Kym and Winmark's photo from the pre-nuptial shoot they did with Tracey.
I have had the chance to be with the couple when I met with Kym last Monday because Winmark and their families were also there, and I can vouch how loved-up they are. It is hard to find perfectly-matched couples these days, but one look at them and you can easily tell how compatible they are. I wish them all the love and happiness in the world, and  I can't wait to see their beautiful babies ♥

I have to go and prepare now. I promise to take LOTS of photos!
