Unsettling solitude

10 January 2015

It's the first weekend since the work-year commenced, and I spent it doing nothing. I made progress with my 2015 reading challenge, took a nap, changed my blog's color scheme (did you like it?), watched a few episodes of Modern Family, and did nothing. I wanted to paint but my right hand has been aching since last week; I hope it's not the early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome. I shouldn't feel like this because (at the risk of sounding a pompous self-entitled beesh) I deserved rest, but I couldn't help but think I wasted a day being idle.

In the meantime, here is a watercolor painting I made a couple of months ago that seems to encapsulate my current state.

They say creativity is a well that never runs out. I believe that. I also believe that you get more creative as long as you practice more. But right now, I am completely devoid of inspiration.

I hope it's just PMS talking and I'll be perfectly okay again tomorrow. It's a Sunday but I need to be more productive, so maybe I'll organize my closet and do a bit of spring cleaning? Out with the old and in with the new, I guess.

Wishing you're having a better weekend than I am.

Ate Krissy, I just have to say... I SUPER LOVE THE NEW THEME! Today's the first time I've visited your blog for this year and your theme just really speaks to me! I love the cutesy header too! PS : Definitely "organize" your closet. I find that it "cleanses" me when I'm stuck in a rut! :D

  3. I'm always afraid of that, getting carpal tunnel syndrome. That's something dentists get and I have a friend whose had surgery for that, already. As a dentist, my hands are my weapons, my source of income. If it fails on me, I have nothing left to do. Once again, your paintings are lovely Krissy. My first week work week back after the holidays is hell.

  4. Krissy, ang ganda! I would love to see it framed. I can see it as a great stationery, gift tag and card. You should make more! It can even serve as your blog's theme. Galing!

  5. Thanks, Jannie! I changed my blog's theme late last year, but this color scheme and banner were installed just before I wrote this post. :)

I agree with you! There's something about organizing closets that gives birth to new ideas. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do it today because our house started undergoing repairs. :/ Hope I can do it this coming long weekend!

  7. Me, too! More than anything else I'm terribly scared of losing my eyes and my hands. Thanks, Crix! I hope the coming week will be much better!

  8. Thanks, Diane! One of my biggest goals for this year is to put up my stationery shop, and I've already taken the first steps to do it. Please cross your fingers for me! :)
