I've said this more than a dozen times already: I love Italian food. I got a taste of Italian perfection when I attended Aria Cucina Italiana's press luncheon two months ago, and I've been itching to go back since then! Especially since I didn't get to have dessert that day :(
Towards the end March, I was able to visit the restaurant again with my friend Ana, and I really hope you're not feeling hungry at the moment because I'll show you photos of all the delicious dishes we ate!
![]() |
| Let's start with antipasti: Bread with oil and vinaigrette dip |
![]() |
| Dolci Mousse al due cioccolati (P190) Layers of white and dark chocolate mousse pastry topped with ground hazelnuts I didn't get to taste it during the luncheon because I had to leave before it was served, but because of Kira's recommendations I ordered it as well. I don't like mousse that much because some of them are too sweet for my liking, but two thumbs up for this one! |
![]() |
| Bevande Aria Shake (P170) for Ana and Frozen Iced Tea (P85) for me Perfect for sipping by the beach on a hot and humid summer day. Sigh. |
Our total bill came up to a little over P2,200. It might be a little too grand for just a simple lunch-date out, so maybe eating here is best reserved for special occasions, like romantic dates with your amore or birthday dinners. Or if you're like me who loves Italian food that much, I think it's okay to indulge yourself sometimes ;)

Do you guys remember when I said I went to a press luncheon of the newest restaurant in the metro? And do you remember when I said this restaurant is very famous in Boracay, so we were asked to wear outfits in "colors of the beach"? Click here to see what I wore. Behold, the name of the restaurant is:
![]() |
| Aria Cucina Italiana |
Aria is a modern and contemporary Italian restaurant that has a menu inspired by the coastal regions of the Mediterranean. First opened in 2003 by friends and restaurateurs Juan Elizalde and Paolo Occhionero in Boracay, one of the world's top beach destinations, Aria elevated the standards of restaurant designs in the beautiful island with its stylishly modern, tropical interiors and cozy ambiance and turned itself into one of the top destinations in the island.

They have kept the original menu in Boracay untouched except for adding a couple of "must try's" created by their Aria Cucina Italia-Manila Chef, Marino Leonardis, who hails from Leguria, Italy. "I always make sure to use only the best ingredients, always fresh. Plus I make everything by hand, from scratch Even the pesto, which originated from my region in Italy, is made the original way - with a mortar and pestle."
With these tidbits of information, I therefore conclude Aria Cucina Italiana couldn't be more Italian than it already is ;D And guys, guys, do you remember how I've always loved Italian food? Here are the different dishes served to us (please note that these are just sample servings):
![]() |
| Gran Misto Aria (P435) a vegetarian mix of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, grilled bell pepper salad, eggplant mash and deep fried zucchini, served with focaccia bread |
![]() |
| Rotolino Marchigiano (P390) wood fire oven baked pizza roll stuffed with either tomato sauce, mushroom, eggplant, and mozzarella or mushroom, mozzarella, and ham |
![]() |
Insalata Cocomero, Ruccola e Pinoli (P480) organic arugula with fresh watermelon, feta cheese and pine nuts in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing |
![]() |
| Insalata Tartufata con Parma Ham (P480) a salad of grilled eggplant, lettuce, tomatoes, parma ham, and smoked scamorza cheese tossed in a truffle dressing |
![]() |
| Spaghetti Marinara a favorite seafood pasta of the Mediterranean coast. A choice of tomato or olive oil-based sauce |
![]() |
| Risotto con Porcini, Mantecato al Mascarpone risotto with porcini mushrooms whipped with mascarpone and aged parmesan cheese |
Such a shame I had to leave before the main course and dessert were served because I had to go back to the office for a meeting. I can't wait to return to get what I missed out on! Photos from Kira:
![]() |
| Salmone al Pepe Verde (P650) a fresh salmon fillet served with a creamy green pepper sauce |
![]() |
| Mousse ai due Cioccolati (P190) layers of white and dark chocolate topped with ground hazelnuts |
My favorites are the Rotolino Marchigiano and Seafood Marinara. They were so gooooood! I wish they put up a QC branch soon so I could drop by more often!
I enjoyed the event with these lovely ladies ♥

Big thanks to Aria Cucina Italiana and ARC PR for a wonderful afternoon filled with friends and Italian food. Looking at the photos now makes me crave for some, ack!! I'll go back soon with my friends from the office so I'm really looking forward to that! :)
In case it's not obvious yet, I just want to say I really love Aria Cucina Italiana not only because of all the delicious Italian dishes they serve but also for the ambiance and great service. Last Thursday night, I went to an intimate dinner hosted by my favorite Italian restaurant to sample their August specials. It was a great night spent with wonderful company: my fellow bloggers Tara, Rowena and Lauren, and my colleagues Gerick and Marco and our boss Jenny.
Let me share with you photos of everything we filled our tummies with. I really hope you are prepared for the food porn that will follow ;)
![]() |
| Panissa con fritturina di pesce e maionese allo zenzero Crusted chickpea polenta topped with piccolo fritto misto and ginger mayo (P420) |
Chicken, shrimp and tofu fried and served as appetizer. I especially loved the chicken and shrimp because they were tender considering they have been fried 'til golden brown. I cannot comment on the sauce because I don't eat mayonnaise, sorry, but I imagine this dish will be perfect movie companion as a more filling substitute to popcorn.
![]() |
| Rotoli di pasta con pomodori secchi e ricotta su crema di porcini Rolled fresh pasta stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes, ricotta and parmesan cheese served with porcini coulis (P450) |
Don't be intimidated by the long name. Oh my goodness, this dish is just so goooood. This is, hands down, the group favorite of the night. All of us said we can eat this the whole night and not get tired of it. Just looking at the photo made me crave heh.
![]() |
| Panuozzo Casareccio Freshly-baked dough stuffed with mozzarella, Italian sausage, eggplant and scamorza cheese (P380) |
This is not in the menu yet but this is another dish I highly recommend. No one does pizza dough quite like Aria's chefs can. I especially liked the melting mozzarella cheese. Think two thin pizza slices; very filling.
![]() |
| Polchetta Oven-baked chicken roll stuffed with Italian spices and wrapped in parma ham (P450) |
This dish is served with potato slices. I don't know if it's just the batch served to us or it's really the way it is made, but I didn't like it as much as I liked the other dishes because I found the chicken roll a little too hard to bite into.
![]() |
| Semifreddo al Croccantino Crunchy almond parfait with a hint of Grand Marnier (P180) |
There's always room for dessert ;) Good for sharing, this tastes and feels a little like sans rival. Smooth to the taste and the sweetness is just right, although Aria's mousse is still my favorite among the desserts they serve.
![]() |
| Frozen iced tea |
I always choose this when dining there. I don't know, there's just something so comforting about having my favorite lemon iced tea, but with a "frozen" twist.
![]() |
| Mojito |
I've been here several times already but this was the first time I ordered cocktails. I guess I was just in a celebratory mood that night heehee. I never liked beer and have always preferred vodka mixes or cocktail drinks, and when it comes to alcohol, mojitos are my favorite. I've already tasted mojitos from different restaurants but this one from Aria has got to be the best I've had. It was so refreshing and gave me just the right buzz. If there's one thing I can say, it's just that I wish Aria can also offer strawberry mojitos in the future.
I also had a latte although I did not finish it. I drank just enough to make sure I don't fall asleep in the cab on my way home. ;)
If there's anything this night taught me, it's that it's not wrong to be a little more adventurous when it comes to food. Whenever I dine at restaurants I always order my favorites, but maybe it's also good to try other stuff in the menu. You never know, but maybe you can discover other potential favorites you might like better than the tried-and-tested.
What a great night. One of my job responsibilities involve researching about Italy's culture and cuisine, and you know how much I wish to be an Italian in my next lifetime so you can just imagine how I am enjoying this task. Thank you so much, Aria Cucina and ARC.

So I've decided to do what I do best: ignore this series of unfortunate events for the meantime and cross the bridge when I get there. It's the Love-month guys, and I am happy to share some exciting news with all of you!

It is human nature to want what one doesn't have. Such an appropriate and relevant thing to say because while in the event I am going to talk to you about, I suddenly missed my long hair that I think I might grow it again this time.
Last Wednesday I went to a Pink Box party that promised an end to bad hair days. It is one of my favorite events I've been to in a while because a. it was a PINK party and b. it was held in my favorite restaurant Aria Cucina Italiana.
If heaven really looks like the idea of heaven presented in the movie What Dreams May Come, THIS is what my heaven would look like: pink and with lots of girly and frilly touches!
After filling ourselves up with delicious Italian food (Juvy, my favorite waitress there even prepared a special Rucola pizza for me by putting pine nuts and arugula on slices of Four Cheese Pizza ♥) the Pink Box team presented a quick demo on how to use their newest hair weapons: the Donut Bun and the Hair Puff (don't you think they sound yummy?)

One of my frustrations in life is not being able to do this hairstyle (#meandmyproblems). I just think it's such a quick and easy way to look chic; all you need is a swipe of red lipstick and you're good to go! This is perfect for relaxed days like when running errands or even for more formal and dressy events - just pair with an LBD and pearls a la Audrey Hepburn. I've never been able to put my hair up in a bun even when it was longer because it's too thick, so everything falls off the tie before I've even finished doing it. Hopefully the Donut Bun will make the job easier for me.

Now this, this is something I can manage, I just need a couple more inches of hair. I love how it easily adds a certain flair to your look. I wish my hair grows longer soon so I can give this hairstyle a try!
Both the Donut Bun and Hair Puff come in different sizes so you can find which suits your outfit and mood for the day or your hair length.
After the demo, it was time for us to try it for ourselves.
After the demo, it was time for us to try it for ourselves.
The Pink Box team passed baskets of hair goodies around and the girl who came up with the best look using either the Donut Bun or Hair Puff went home with a full-length mirror with compartment for accessories inside! Spoiler alert: I did not win haha.

Another bonus of the day --- while on our way to BHS, I read off Twitter that my blog-friend Mimai was also in the restaurant adjacent to Aria so I immediately sent her a text. We've been meaning to go out again after our belated birthdate but our schedules wouldn't meet, so I was really glad to see her!
