Answering a tag and some updates Ü

08 April 2009

My first post as a 23 year old is an answer to a tag by Myam, a wonderful crafter/ blogger from Cebu whose works I stumbled upon online one boring afternoon Ü

The rules are:
1. Mention the person who nominated you.
2. List 6 unimportant things that make you happy.
3. Tag 6 blogs, state the rules, and notify them with a teeny comment on their blog.

Soooo, here's my list Ü

1. Skittles
I don't know, maybe it's because of the rainbow colors, maybe it's the sweet-sour taste, maybe it's because it was my favorite candy since time immemorial, but Skittles are my happy pills! Whenever I am in the dumps all it takes is a bag of Skittles to cheer me up.

2. Zagu Natural Dalandan
I love pearl shakes! And I loooove citrus fruits! So natural dalandan puree plus ice blended drink plus black tapioca pearls is equal to pure happiness! Refreshing indeed!

3. shoes
44 shoes. That is my last count. But I don't care. I am addicted to shoes and I think I am going to keep buying them until I go broke. Eep I hope not! I can argue that they are important so they shouldn't be here, but when you already lost count of how many pairs you own I think that already poses a problem so they should be included in this list already ;)

4. hearing my favorite song on the radio (after not hearing it for quite a while)
Yes I know iPods and mp3 players and digital playlists all make hearing your favorite songs so convenient and within reach, but there is something so beautiful in hearing a favorite song on a local FM station, without you requesting for it. You were young, you had a favorite song, you listen to it all the time, and then you grow up and forget about it. And then one day wham! A local FM radio station plays it and you relive the memories of your favorite song. You then download it so you can enjoy it for posterity. I know this has happened to you, too. Ü

5. thrift shopping
Read this and this and you'll see. Ü

6. Tumblr
I can stay on it all day. It's awesome that you can reblog other people's posts. And you cannot believe what a treasure trove it is for awesome photos, quotes and what-nots. I repeat, I can stay on it all day. Here's my Tumblr. Not much on it yet though Ü

Books (especially when they're on sale and hard to find), watching movies (in the big screen or DVDs) and writing are all important.

Suffice it to say that I am really a happy person and I can be so perky that it sometimes annoys my friends/ officemates. I am an eternal optimist and (I think) the only thing that can make me feel down in more than a couple of hours is a really bad case of PMS. But otherwise I am a speck of sunshine and positivity so I guess the things in my list are just icing on the cake ;)

Now I am tagging Mel, Andhari, Anagon, Mich, Jonas, and Recks! Ü

I am sorry I haven't been able to update this blog for awhile now. It's a bit tough since I don't have an Internet connection in the apartment. My Multiply is constantly updated though, I just find it easier to blog there because almost all my friends are in there.

I thought of creating The Week That Was posts since I am only able to update my Multiply weekly, that is every time I go home to my family. You might want to check them out:
  • The week that was 1
  • The week that was 2
  • The week that was 3
It contains a recollection of the things that happened to me in a week. It is an excellent way to record memories and update my online journal and my friends Ü

Meanwhile my birthday post can be read here. And photos from my PINK POSITIVE party can be found here Ü

So yeah, thank you for reading this, until next! ♥♥

My Friendster profile
which displays my age as 22
but not for long

This is my last blog post as a 22 years young lady. In two minutes I turn 23. I am leaving the Dark Age behind, referred to as such because of the "Bella in New Moon-state" I was in for a good part of the past year. I am just so happy I am over that now. So I am now bidding 22 years old Krissy a cheerful adieu and am now harking a spanking new beginning for my 23rd year, with pink glittering kisses and all.

Here's hoping the coming year will be a good one for me. Whoops. I know it will ♥♥

Last night I took part in a milestone in Philippine music history.

08 March 2009

Saturday of March 7, 2009 was one of the most awesome Saturdays EVER. All hail to Eraserheads! I love Chito Miranda but I've got to give it to Ely Buendia, you totally rock! You are a genius, and I love you. Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala, I love you.

I was waiting for this event for weeks, and I am just so happy I was able to go. I went with my soul sister/ co-editor in chief/ co-publisher Ana and my brother Ken.

I am glad I was one of the sea of people who trooped to SM Mall of Asia just to take part in this never-to-be-repeated event in music history.

Last night, under the inky black sky, under the moon and the stars, together with the other 99,999 people (assuming that the event's "10 million fans, only 100,000 will see" tag line is accurate) who came to see Eraserheads' final set, I was blown away.

I grew up listening to their songs and I am just thankful for the chance to see them perform live, for the last time.

Ely singing "Kailan" accompanied only with a piano was indeed heartbreaking, poignant, enigmatic. I caught my breath, I was mesmerized.

Electrifying. Overwhelming. Orgasmic. Words are not enough to describe it.

I took videos and pictures but I would have to post them on Tuesday because I would go back to the apartment in a few hours. More comprehensive post when I finally post them.

Truly, it was a night worth remembering. A milestone, if you may. And I am glad I was part of it.

Thank you Eraserheads, for your contribution to OPM. Can I just say again that I love you?

And to Francis Magalona, I love you and I admire you greatly. You will be sorely missed, but your legacy will live on through your music.

I am still overwhelmed.

Victorian Valentine II

03 March 2009

I was finally able to upload the photos from the Victorian Valentine party! I was supposed to post them last week but forgetful me left the memory card at the apartment when I went home =[

Anyway, the pictures were from the event I blogged about in my last post (which seems like ages ago!). I attended a Victorian Valentine party with my college bestfriend Recks and her boyfriend Ryan and sister Michelle.

The ambiance was very nice and apt, with good lighting, beautiful and ornate furniture and lots of rose petals strewn everywhere. There was even a string quartet! There was a Human Auction (with the proceeds going to the Philippine Red Cross), tarot reading (I wanted to have my fortune read but I was too lazy to fall in line haha!), poetry reading, ballet dance number, photo booth, and a ball. We were served cupcakes, bread sticks and red wine. There was even a chocolate fountain and candy sprinkles and rice crispies.

I spent more than half the night ogling at other people's costumes. People really do spend for these stuff! It was my first time to attend a cosplay event so I was amazed at the effort enthusiasts put in in creating elaborate and very detailed costumes.

Okay, enough talk. Here is what I wore!

I wore a long black backless satin gown, accessorized with black strappy heels. black satin 'finger-less' gloves, black satin rose bag, red feather boa, black/ red fascinator, black rose ring, swarovski earrings, and the black necklace I made.

The black pearl/ chain necklace I made especially for this occasion This is probably my favorite part of my outfit. This and the satin gloves. Ü

I did my own makeup. This is my waterloo, my Achilles' heel, if you may =D

We look like covers of the Twilight saga. from left to right: Michelle - Twilight Krissy - New Moon Ryan - Breaking Dawn Recks - Eclipse

I just love this photo.
Taken by Michelle.

All balls had to end though. Recks dropped me off at McDonalds in QC where Dane was already waiting for me. We just stopped by a Burger King drive thru and then he took me home.

At the Burger King drive thru

Cinderella all-smiles after the ball.
Oh wait, I love Jasmine more. I'll be Jasmine.
Jasmine all-smiles after the ball haha! Ö

I had so much fun! All in all this was indeed a night to remember Ü

More photos here ♥♥

A night of magic and romance

21 February 2009

Sorry for the lack of posts these past few days. I am not able to update this blog as much as I would want to. But then you could always check my Multiply site for updates on the goings-on in my life (that is if you want to hehe!)

So many things happened the past few days:
  • I met up with an online friend, Ate Cess
  • I reconciled with an old friend (who used to be "he, who makes me happy" and then turned out to be "he, who must not be named because he broke my heart in the worst way possible")
  • I went to Tagaytay with my friends/ officemates and had lots of fun
  • I celebrated Vday with a mall tour of Boyce Avenue (who are sooo awesome!)

Anyway, that is not the point of this post. The point is this:

I am going to attend Victorian Valentine II which will be held tonight at the McKinley Hill Showroom, Fort Bonifacio. The guests should be dressed in Victorian garb, like what they wore in balls during the 1500s and 1600s. This is the first time I will attend a costume party and I am so excited! Lots of activities are also in store like the Human Auction (with the proceeds going to the Philippine Red Cross), Tarot Reading and Poetry Reading.

I will wear a long black satin gown, accessorized with a red feather boa, satin gloves, and red/black fascinator. I still need to make the choker that I will wear though. I still have lots of things to prepare!

For more information you may click here. I have to go now because I need to get ready, be primped and prettified! Will post pics after the event Ü

What my name means

15 February 2009

Okaaaay. So it's taking Multiply so long to finish uploading my photos. I've been in front of my computer for more than 5 hours now and I am still not done. So far I have managed to upload more than 270 photos (that's a lot!) already (from my Tagaytay trip and my Vday celebration) and I still need to upload around 70 photos more. I need to sleep early because I have work tomorrow so I need to finish this quickly.

Meanwhile I found this meme. And I know you've all prolly tried this already but I thought it would be fun to post mine here hehe. Anyway the result seems pretty spot on ;)

What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

You Are Smart and Curious
You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

Niceee. That's all for now. My brain cells are not working properly and I still have tons of backlogs to do, all chiefly concerned with our online mag. 'Til next! Ü

Leaving you with this Ü

Hello!

Hello!
Alliterations are amusing. Chandeliers, cheesecakes, and charm bracelets make me happy. My blog aims to spread pink, positive thoughts and pretty little things. Send me some love and kisses via mail@krissyfied.com.
