Bloggers United teamed up with Sunsilk for the seventh installment of the bloggers' bazaar held in Metrotent last Saturday, and it was so much fun! I almost didn't go because I got too wrapped up with work that I didn't get to prepare anything to sell, but thankfully I thought of teaming up with my friend Jho!

We sold art and craft supplies, and I'm so glad we still sold a lot despite the event being primarily fashion-centric. We were right smack in the middle of booths selling clothes, shoes, and accessories at dirt-cheap prices but sales still did well. Cheers to us DIY-lovers!

More than anything else, I love Bloggers United bazaars because I get to see a lot of people, hang out with my friends, and meet my readers!

Dairy Queen also let us try their new Blizzard flavors. I loved Waffle Crisp Nutella a lot!

Jho also gave me a massive arts and crafts loot bag! Yay!

What an experience! Due to the nature of things I sold in my booth, I think this is my favorite BU so far! Fellow Havaianaticos, it's time to flock to Glorietta Activity Center for the annual Make Your Own Havaianas event is here!

I had such a great time at last year's MYOH that I said yes straightaway when I was invited to MYOH 2014's media launch. I love that they chose to hold it near the office this time so it was much easier for me to drop by after work.

As always, there were big roulettes in strategic areas to help you mix and match your sole, strap, and pins!

Havaianas transformed the Glorietta Activity Center into one big Brazilian street party! There were performances by the SAMBA School Imperatriz Filipinense, Futkaleros, and Escola Brasileria De Capoiera, a short program hosted by Chino Lui-Pio and Nyko Maca, and welcoming words by Brazilian ambassador to the Philippines George Ney De Souza Fernandes.

Epson Printer also gave away special bonfim wish ribbons you can personalize! I got two. It is said that bonfim wish ribbons need to be knotted three times while you're making your three wishes. When the knots unravel by themselves, your wishes will come true. Neat-o!

When the main event actually started, the Havaianas assemblers scurried around like ants! It was an organized chaos that was fascinating to watch.


It wasn't difficult for me to choose the colors and pins I want because I already decided on it a day prior via Havaianas's virtual MYOH on their website. I filled out my form with my specifications in no time! We were also very lucky because we waited in line at an assembling station near the pin releasing booth. First dibs! Yay!

Regular top and slim soles plus the straps cost P895 while the commemorative pair and straps cost P995. Pins cost P100 to P150.

The girl who assembled my Havaianas is Jhude. She's so quick! She said my pair is the first pair she ever made, which was awesome for me to learn because it looked like she had already done it many times before.

Whereas last year's pair's theme is outer space, I figured I should go closer to home this time and chose beach-themed pins. After seeing the pair of two pins attached, I asked if I could add two more, and I'm so glad she said I could!

This year's limited edition commemorative pair was inspired by bonfims and wishes the wearer Alegria (Joy), Diversao (Amusement), Empolgacao (Excitement), Euforia (Euphoria), and Felicidade (Bliss). I just love those words.

I wore heels to the event and my feet almost wanted to kill me not even halfway through the program; wearing my new flipflops immediately after was such a welcome and sweet relief. Thanks for another awesome experience, Havaianas! I LOVE my customized pair and I can't wait to see what you guys will come up with for next year's MYOH! I am also looking forward to having my bonfim wishes fulfilled. :)

"I have enough lipstick." Said no woman ever.

And so when Kira asked me what I want among Glamourbox's wide selection of beauty products as a belated birthday gift to me, I chose the OFRA lipstick in Purple Haze and Holika Holika Angel's Ring Bubble Hair Color in Red Wine straightaway. This post will concentrate on the lipstick since I haven't used the hair dye yet, though. I chose Purple Haze because I wanted more purple-colored lipsticks aside from my Wet 'n Wild in Ravin' Raisin. However, after she showed me swatches comparing it to another shade, I jumped ship and chose Fuchsia instead.

This is a review of my OFRA lipstick in Fuchsia.



OFRA lipsticks are packaged quite simply, with the color shown on the bottom to make identifying it much easier. I'm glad they gave this one a name unlike their first releases that were given just shade numbers (like my OFRA #205) but they could've been more creative and thought of more exciting names.



OFRA Fuchsia is a deep berry that looks like it has a matte finish, but one swipe will tell you it is actually more satiny and creamy. As with other OFRA lipsticks, it has a "moisturizing formula enriched with anti-oxidants, Vitamin E, and natural sunscreen." The swatches look phenomenal, by the way! Take a look at these.

I did think that this can be compared to some of the other lipsticks I already have, so I took some of them out of storage and swatched away. That MAC Heroine belongs to my officemate Rica, though.

OFRA Fuchsia vs MAC Heroine vs MAC Girl About Town vs Wet 'n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy

OFRA Fuchsia leans more on the deep berry side than [my ultimate fave] MAC Girl About Town, and is worlds away from MAC Heroine's lavender/ purple tint. It does eerily look almost the same as Wet 'n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy although unlike the latter, it is a lot more moisturizing and does not bleed nor feather.

Gorgeous shade of pink that's versatile enough to be dressed up or down, inexpensive, long-lasting, and moisturizing - I can easily count this as one of my top ten favorite lipsticks ever! My only gripe about it is that it's not readily available in malls but can only be bought via Glamourbox (Kira told me I got the last piece, so I hope they've already restocked them in case you want one!). And oh yeah, hopefully they can come up with cuter shade names next time, hee.

I should be writing my book but here I am, writing about lipstick. -_-' Oh well. I'm going back to work now, TTFN!

Yesterday was the first day of my long Labor Day weekend, and I spent it exploring Tagaytay with my friends from my carpool service. I love how we have different personalities but we mesh so well. We've done a lot of things but it was our first out-of-town trip together!

We capped the night with frappes and tea at Starbucks before Kuya Jun drove us home. I was dead tired that I slept all the way through even though I was fighting it because I wanted to swap more stories with them.

So yes, my whole body hurts right now because I need more exercise. And yes, it was just a very short trip and we didn't even go that far from Manila, but it doesn't matter. After all, in life, it's not where you go - it's who you travel with. Thanks Chum, Sheila, Ralph, and Mike for another great experience. I am thankful to have been blessed with great friends!

Another long weekend starts for me today! (/^▽^)/ This is a scheduled post and when this gets posted, I will have been in a van bound for Tagaytay for a quick day-trip with my friends from my carpool service! They are some of the best friends I have met since I started working in Makati, and I [secretly] gave us the name The Breakfast Club since we eat breakfast together at least twice a week.

We were originally supposed to go to the beach but aside from the fact we couldn't seem to agree on dates and places that will be convenient for everyone, most resorts near Manila are already fully booked because of the long Labor Day weekend. I really wanted to go to the beach but oh well, Tagaytay is the next best thing so that is where we will go. Our plans include visiting the churches, eating [a lot!], and hiking to Taal Lake! I'm almost sure I am not physically fit to do that but fingers crossed I will be able to make it heh.
